The Mothman?

While it happened long before I was born(1997 for all of you who are interested), I find myself thinking of the real incidents with the Mothman, not just the movie, more and more. I first learned about the Mothman about a year or so ago when I watch the movie The Mothman Prophecies with my older brother. After I saw that movie I wanted to learn everything I could about the Mothman. Most stories that I read are fan-fiction to the movie, and most pictures that I see are so obviously hoaxes.

Now I have seen reports about what the Mothman looked (looks?) like, and have seen “real” pictures. What I would like to know is, could the Mothman still be around?

The Silver Bridge collapse happened over the Ohio River in the mid-70′s. I can’t find many reports of Mothman sightings (this might just be operator error) past that year.

See, I live in Central Ohio, as I have …

Philippine Elves

Every summer, my best friend and their family would go to Bicol to visit her grandmother. She told me a lot of scary creatures she or her relatives encounter, one of these are the Nuno (elf or dwarf).

My best friend always go to the back garden of her grandma to enjoy the beautiful sight, when she was about to sleep; she noticed a small scary person sitting beside her. she was so scared that she was about to faint, the “Person” was not human nor was a spirit. it was wearing a tattered blue hat, it also had sharp teeth and scary brown foundation (skin). She saw the “thing” leave and disappear in front of an old mango tree. as soon as it left, she hurried back inside the house and told her cousins about it. her cousins told her it was a “Nuno sa Puno”.

Everyday, my best friend sits on the bench and waits for the nuno …

A Dark Intruder

A few short years ago, I was homeless and destitute. I had no job, no money, no wage benefits of any kind.

I spent most of my days walking around the city looking for a place to sleep for the night and trying to keep food inside myself and the odd luxury of a pouch of cheap tobacco and cigarette papers. I had a few friends who I would occasionally meet up with and ‘crash’ on their couch’s for a day or two before moving on.

I knew I was being a drain on them, so I tried to never stay in the same place for too long. Nights when I couldn’t hook up with my buddies I would just find an abandoned apartment block or warehouse and curl up there instead.

I hold a dual American/Canadian citizenship so I often found myself in either downtown Vancouver or in the Seattle area, In January 2007, I had arrived back in …

Strange Creature on German Shore

I’ve seen some odd photos in my time but this one is just mind-blowing to say the least!

I didn’t take the picture, my cousin Phill’s father-in-law took it of his wife. They were in Germany a few years ago and were sightseeing. When they got back and had the photos developed they noticed this eerie crouching anomaly in the background, kneeling down! As you can imagine they were shocked to the core.

No one knows if it is a ghost or an alien. What they do know is that there was no one around at the time, the area was quiet and deserted.

I have no idea what to do with this info, I wandered if you’d be interested.

Note from the CareTaker: This image has been altered by me only to block out the face to keep the person in the photograph anonymous. I did this at the request of Colin who was kind enough to send this …

Was it a Ghost or Bigfoot?

Ever since my sister and I were small we felt we had something following us. We lived in an apartment with my mother and father at the time and we would always have mysterious things happen to us. I had over heard my mother at one time mention that while she was at the sink doing dishes something had touched her on the shoulder and she had become very cold.

My sister and I shared a room together, as a kid I always had very vivid nightmares. One night both my sister and I were still awake when all of a sudden in the corner of our room a loud sound and movement. There was nothing else in our room, just us, we continued to have things happen like this for some time, things would also go missing and were never, ever found.

My father has been diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic and we noticed that after he left this seemed …

Strange Creature on a Lonely Road in Oregon

This took place shortly after I had turned 16. My dad was working up in Oregon and Washington but was based out of rainier. I went up to live with him I guess just to do something different. I was used to being around the city type of atmosphere and it wasn’t too long before I grew bored (not that the Oregon country girls in that area didn’t stir my blood, it’s just that they mainly wanted to waste their time getting high, or drunk, tipping cows, or shooting the passing ships going down the Columbia river, which I didn’t mind at that time, I just missed the city lights or something).

Anyhow, I’d been out partying with a friend and drove off the side of a mountain, (another story which would take a while to go through), and I thought my dad was probably going to kill me anyway, without the benefit of blindfold and a last smoke, so …

Abominable Snowman?

Well it all started when I was about 12. I was happily watching TV until I went to the bathroom to blow my nose because it was around December and I had a cold.

After I blew my nose I decided to look out the window to see how hard it was snowing, hoping school would be closed. I lifted the blinds and looked but it wasn’t snowing hardly at all about a half an inch. So I was getting ready to turn around and go back to the living room to watch TV when I noticed something standing in the snow about halfway down our hill. It was white, had a blue face and blue hands, about 7 or 8 feet tall and was looking straight at me. I began shaking uncontrollably. I was so scared I couldn’t move. I was getting hot flashes all over and felt sick.

I watched it walk towards the small woods next to …

Strange Creature In Beaverdam Park Virginia

This tale isn’t about a ghost.  It’s about something that we saw a few years ago that makes me think either cryptid or very strange person. It still bothers me. Opinions would be nice.

My family and I like to go hiking. We live in the tidewater area of Virginia, and one place we used to visit frequently was Beaverdam Park. It has several trails, a few of which are quite long. The one we were on that day was around 7 miles up and back. Beaverdam Park is located around the Beaverdam reservoir, a beautiful lake created when they dammed up a part of the Beaverdam swamp. It is full of wildlife and some plants that are on the endangered list. The area still has some deep woods, and a huge area of undeveloped swampland or drainage.

It was early summer and pretty hot. It was in the middle of the week and not crowded at all. We decided …

Bigfoot Of Lake Owassa New Jersey

Bigfoot has been a mystery since I was a child at our summer cabin on Lake Owassa in New Jersey.  Big John Lonewolf, a Ute Indian, one of the few residents who stayed on the lake year round and a seasoned hunter and fisherman told tales of this huge bear like creature he was unable to catch.  One thing I knew about “Uncle” John at an early age, was that he was a man of few words, and of those few words, there were no lies or exaggerations. So I knew there was a Bigfoot creature from an early age.  Little did I know I would become a huntress for one, not to kill it, but to observe and help prove its existence.  No one on my paranormal crew kills or hunts, we are simply hunters for finding, on the trail, making it known, headed for truth wherever it takes us.

And the further curiosity of such things started when …

Strange Orange Creature Was It A Demon?

This story is 100% completely true and its been happening all me and my sisters life up to this day. Me and my sis are close and we hang out a lot.

One evening we were coming back from a play and we decided to take a different way home. so we did. On the way, my sister notice something standing near the side of the dirt road. She said it was orange with a human like body but it had no face! I only saw it for half a second because I was driving, but we didn’t talk about it that much and almost forgot about it.

Later that year it was thanksgiving. Me and my family went to our grandparents for dinner. It was winter so it was already dark out. well, me and my sister were in the kitchen with my grandpa talking away. Our grandparents had a farm and grew corn and peas. They didn’t grow …

Werewolves Do Exist

When the term werewolves pop up in general, miscellaneous conversations our sub-conscious instantaneously conjures fearsome images of large, canine-like creatures with serrated teeth having bits of torn sinewy meat trapped in-between each of them and a rippling muscular physique encompassed with fur as well as sharp claws and the strength of several men and the agility of well-disciplined athletes.

We regard werewolves to be the perfect cross between a wolf and a man. We deem the creature as possessing qualities known both to man and wolves and consequently they have been branded as a creature of the night. A terrifying abomination of nature, so hideous and grotesque, that our blood curdles at the probability of encountering a creature in the depths of a dense forest at the dead of night. They are stereotyped monsters of Hollywood. Their existence limited to elements of fiction.

But, as expected, this text is here to refute that notion. Werewolves do exist with fairly adequate …

Strange Beast On The Beach

My life has been full of brushes with the paranormal. I was born and raised in a hundred year old haunted house, and things have been progressively stranger since then. A lot of these incidents of the odd happened at my former job, a coal burning power plant located on the shore of lake Erie.

The plant was built on a nexus of sorts, every stripe of supernatural weirdness you could ever hope to experience or be subjected too was there. And as a security guard, you were going to see it all like it or not. We had a high turn over rate.

Out of all of the incidents, this was the winner. We used to do vehicle patrols on a near constant basis. On of the nicer routes was along the lake on a dirt road that sat about a story above the lake looking down on the beach. I used to park the patrol vehicle and sneak …
