Troll Sighting in Tennessee?

I decided to share this ridiculous-sounding story after submitting several personal experiences on this blog and receiving positive feedback. I feel confident now that I won’t be laughed at… thanks to the readers on here.

This happened to me in October 2008, right before Halloween. My daughter and I were driving to my mother’s house about 5 miles away from my subdivision for our usual Sunday dinner. We live in Campbell County, East Tennessee, so my parents live pretty far out in an isolated rural area. The road out there is 2-lane blacktop, very winding and curvy. I was late for dinner, so I was speeding a bit, but I knew the road very well, having lived there for so long.

I came zooming around a curve in the road and immediately had to swerve my car to avoid hitting… it? … sitting on the side of the road. I slowed down and got a good look at the back …

Demon Dog in Bangladesh

This isn’t something that happened to me, but to my uncle in our country when I was like two and we had no electricity in our village. I am from Bangladesh and back then the village across the railroad had electricity and TV to watch movies. My uncle and couple of his friends wanted to watch some new movie that just came out on VCR not DVDs. They had apparently heard someone was going to watch it in the village across the rail road. So they went there at night time laughing and joking like kids.

As they walked across the railroad there were banana trees or some trees that looked like tropical trees. They suddenly heard a dog bark. They stopped and saw the dog, but they could not see it clearly enough to identify it, it was dark and hard to see what color dog it was. My uncle and his friends told the dog to shut up. …

Scary Growls

The following story happened a few months ago to me and some friends… we are still scared and don’t know what is was! Some think it’s a werewolf…

We were visiting my one friend Sarah, just having fun, laughing and talking… the usual. Was getting late, Nicole decided to go home, we walked her out as usual. Sarah and I were still joking, when all of a sudden we heard something in the field in front of their home. We looked and saw a large black shadow sitting a few feet away and it was looking straight at us. It got up and we just ran into the house, locking everything and sitting in the dark…listening! The thing was twice our size and bulky. We were so scared… Nothing happened until my boyfriend came to pick me up, as we were driving away, I looked over to the field and heard the most evilest growl ever… no dog can make …

Gnome in Atlanta Garden

This happened to me way back in the mid 1990′s.  At the time I was already in my forties.  I need to go into a bit of detail.

First, I will describe the setting. In Atlanta, there is a main artery called Ponce De Leon Avenue. This runs between Decatur and the north end of downtown. It is a very busy street with lots of traffic. There is on one side of it a sunken garden, with scrub brush and trees growing up the embankment, blocking Ponce from immediate sight. The garden is part of the grounds of a school for epileptic kids. There is a bit of virgin timber-land and more shrubby, scrubby type of growth on the fridges of a formal garden. The garden and a big antebellum house once belonged to a man named Cator Woolford, a philanthropist. The garden and the house etc. are in trust, and the school operates as long as the garden is …

Red Eyed Creature in Ohio Woods

My best friend, Rachel, and I have been friends almost our entire lives. Since 2nd grade, and we are now graduated out of school. The first time I ever spent the night at her house, which was probably around the 6th grade, we saw something.

We both woke up out of a dead sleep and looked at the window. What we saw changed our lives forever. It looked similar to a man, but with red eyes. I thought I was dreaming at first, but the next morning Rachel asked me if I had seen it. That’s when she told me that wasn’t her first encounter with it. She had seen it outside her house, which is up on a big hill surrounded by woods, several times since she was around 6 years old. We have both seen this creature several times since then, both together and separately. It’s taller than the average man around 6 to 7 feet, it’s arms …

Some Sort of Shadow Creature?

I’ve had a few weird experiences in my life, but I tend to forget things easily. I’m kind of an airhead, and have always endured playful teasing about my forgetfulness. About two months ago, though, I had an experience that is refusing to leave me alone.

I thought maybe I had just been seeing things when I noticed it, but the longer I thought about it, the more it unsettled me. I was driving home on a back road that I use frequently. In fact, a lot of people use it frequently – it’s almost not even a back road anymore because the area I live in is really growing in size and population.

On the road, there are a few farms and a daycare, and on the left you’d come up on a big plaza with a grocery store, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, some gas stations and such. At the intersection at the end of this road is a major highway …

The Tiverton Avenue Demon

First I must state that this is a true account of something that actually happened. If you do happen to see this in a movie (maybe a book) some years from now it is because I am a screen writer.

Jamie, Lawrence, Billy and John. If you guys happen to see this, make a post and say hi. It has been too many years.

The year would have been 1982 or ’83. We all were about 12 years old. Transformers (the toys and cartoon) were big at that time and we were on our way to a local mall to buy some, as it was Friday and we had just gotten our allowance for the week and had been saving toward the toys we so wanted.

It was Summer and late evening as we made our lazy way back from the mall. Taking side streets and talking and BSing each other as boys will do. At the time we really …

Demon or Devil in the Mexico Mountains

When I was about 8 years old my sister and I were sent for summer vacation to Mexico with my grandmother. Ok it was my sister and me with two other cousins and two village kids were in the village forest. We had gone to the a small lagoon called the Rock of eyes, sound better in Spanish trust me it’s a lagoon that has a rock that has a face on it. Legend has it that a small girl had gone swimming here without her parents knowing. Legend stated that the devil came down and cast her soul into this rock because she had disobeyed her parents. Ok that how the legend was told to us and frankly that I really remember this lagoon rock. Let me get back to the story.

So we’re walking on a lonely dirt forest road. When about 20 feet in front of us a men appeared in front of us looking into our …

Strange Creature by Helens Bridge

I had always heard about Helens Bridge since I was a kid. There used to be a big castle on the side of a mountain and in it lived Helen and her daughter. One night the castle caught on fire and killed Helens daughter. Helen was so upset about her poor daughter she hung herself from the bridge that leads to the castle… Now called Helens Bridge. It is said that if you go up to Helens Bridge and call her name 3 times she will appear or make herself known, also if you stop your car and turn it off underneath the bridge the car wont start again when you go to leave… So here is my story.

Me, my cousin Hayley and our friend Taylor decided to go up to Helens Bridge one night, none of us had ever been before, we had heard the stories so we were curious. We went up the mountain and parked the …

Was it the Boogeyman?

My name is Charmaine and this is my story… When I was about 7 years old I started seeing this small creature, it was the size of a dwarf, had sharp yellowish teeth, had red eyes and it’s fingers looked like they were sharpened. At first the creature didn’t do much, it just stood on my table in front of the bed and looked at me, it scared me. I couldn’t move, I was so scared. Later it would smile at me, the evilest smile I had ever seen, later it pointed and smiled. I tried to ignore it, but it wouldn’t go away. I was so scared to go to bed at night. It would appear each night, when the lights were turned off and my parents were sleeping. They never believed me when I told them about the ‘thing’.

After a few months I ignored it and it didn’t like that, he started to scratch the under side …

Strange Creature with Red Eyes

I’m not sure whether I should classify this as a ghost story, or a “monster” story, but in my mind what happened in my life seems paranormal.

I’ll start by telling one of the scariest things I’ve ever heard in my life. I was 14 years old at the time. I lived in my grandparents old house with my parents, my 3 brothers, 2 sisters and my cousin Brayden.
Brayden’s parents didn’t keep care of him very well his whole life, so he was somewhat troubled but still a pretty normal kid like the rest of us. He was a year younger than me, so I guess we could say we were the same age. He was living with us for only a short time, about 4 months. My father had a very important job as a leader of our small community, so he and my mother were always away for business trips.

One night while the parents were away …

Tale of Alleged Lycanthropy in West Virginia

Although this did not happen to me directly, it is an account that has been talked about on my mother’s side of the family for years. My grandmother had told this to my mother and my mother likewise passed it down to me. I would have normally dismissed such a tale as merely a family fable passed on from generation to generation as many families do. However, all the other myths familiar to my family are recognized as just that. This story was received a very different treatment, my grandmother was always embarrassed to talk about it for fear of being suspected a lunatic or simply ridiculed for what others might presume to be feeble mindedness for believing such superstitions. My grandmother was actually angry at my mom for telling me the story that goes as such:

My great grandfather lived in rural West Virginia, he had originally lived in DC his whole life but decided to spend his autumn …
