What do you think? Is there really a huge “monster” or dinosaur living in Loch Ness? Why don’t we have good photos of it? What about the idea that the original sighting was of a circus elephant taking a swim?

This is a good question! Does Nessie Exist. That all depends on your view of existence. Plesiosaurs existed around 65,000,000 years ago but were wiped out in the extinction event that took the Dinosaurs. Nessie, I believe did exist up until the recent past. I’m saying up to 15 years ago. Nessie has died as far as I’m concerned. It’s kind of a cold thing to say, but a creature, even one that could be as long lived as a Plesiosaur, won’t last forever. The oldest living creature on the planet is 10,000 years old, I think, and that’s a species of sea sponge in the antarctic. So Nessie certainly did exist at one time, be it 65,000,000 years ago or 15 years ago.
Hi Weston,
I hope they had babies before they died. The celeocanth (sp??) is another ‘living fossil’ and they havent’ died out. It’s a big fish, for those who don’t know.
But if she died .. where is her body? When something dies it decomposes, that makes it fill up with gas, and they float. A floating nessie on Loch Ness (been there, lovely) would make world headlines – and there are still too many ‘watchers’ of that Loch for it to pass unnoticed?
Fascinating,
Love & Peace,
