My best friend, Rachel, and I have been friends almost our entire lives. Since 2nd grade, and we are now graduated out of school. The first time I ever spent the night at her house, which was probably around the 6th grade, we saw something.
We both woke up out of a dead sleep and looked at the window. What we saw changed our lives forever. It looked similar to a man, but with red eyes. I thought I was dreaming at first, but the next morning Rachel asked me if I had seen it. That’s when she told me that wasn’t her first encounter with it. She had seen it outside her house, which is up on a big hill surrounded by woods, several times since she was around 6 years old. We have both seen this creature several times since then, both together and separately. It’s taller than the average man around 6 to 7 feet, it’s arms and legs look like they have been stretched, its skin is so pale it looks gray, and it moves extremely fast unless it wants you to see it.
When I lived with my dad (his house is about a mile away from Rachel’s) I had woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, as I walk past the front door I happen to look out of the side-panel window next to it and I saw the creature for a split second on the porch. It stepped right out of the porch light to where it was pitch black. I ran to the bathroom and stayed in there for about 20 minutes to try and calm down. When I went back out of the bathroom I ran to my room. I was probably 17 at the time.
Another terrifying experience with this thing was when me, Rachel, and my dads friend were taking my girlfriend home. After we had dropped her off, we went the long way to Rachel’s house. Rachel and I were in the back of the truck, just enjoying the breeze. It was dark out, probably 9 or 10 pm, and we went by this house that was in the middle of a huge, open field. They had a bright porch light, and a little ways away from the house was a single tree. Rachel and I both looked near the tree, but not at the tree because beside it was the creature. It just stood there in the open. It’s like it wanted us to see it.
I don’t know what this thing is, but if you have ever seen the movie “The Descent” that’s the closest thing I have to describe it. I am completely terrified of that movie. I watched it, and it literally put me in tears. I love horror movies and I don’t get scared too easily by them, but I guess it’s the personal accounts that got me. Almost every time we have seen it, it’s like it wanted to be seen, but it just stands there and watches.
I live in a small, backwoods town in southern Ohio. It’s only 10 minutes to West Virginia and 15 minutes from Kentucky. These stories are only a few of the many encounters. I am now 20 years old, but I haven’t seen it in a while, but it continues to haunt my memories. If you have ever seen anything like this please comment.

Interesting story. This thing didn’t have wings did it? The only reason I ask is that this could possibly be a Mothman sighting that you and your friend have encountered. The last major sighting was in the 60′s. From November 12, 1966, to December 1967. Being that you’re from Ohio you might have heard this story. It has also been turned into a pretty good film too called The Mothman Prophecies.
The creature has been described as a man-sized creature, about 6 to 7 feet tall with large reflective red eyes and large wings. This sounds remarkably like what you have seen except for the wings. That’s why I ask if you noticed wings.
Also are you still seeing this creature? And have any bad things happened in your area? The Mothman is believed to be an omen of bad events. EI: The Silver Bridge collapse on the Ohio river.

i have seen the same thing but it had a long tale with white fur / feathers ,
its still haunt my memories and i feel as if i am being watched and touched by something but nothing is ever there. i am 14 and the first time i encountered it was when i was about 5 or 6 , i feel as if its getting closer and closer to me like it wants to take me away.
i live in pataskala ohio, and every where i go or move i feel like its never gonna leave me , sometimes i feel like its suffacating me and i cant breath , and like its touching me and pulling me . my grandmother doesnt belive in mythical creaters and neither do i so this demonic entety that is out there and all of them that look simalar im so sorry for everyone that has to face this almost daily i understand your fear .
Very strange. When you mentioned the ‘creature’, it reminded me of the alien on Signs…..Unfortunately I haven’t a clue what it might be. Hope you don’t see it ever again.

well the good thing is it hasnt done anything to you and your friend.i dont know what to say about this its never happened to me.since the thing doesnt do anything but just stands there dont let it bother you.i know its hard and i wouldnt understand in your point of view but i wouldnt let it control you.im not trying to be rude.thanks for the story and post somemore stories i would like to read them.
read the story ” A trip to my Evil Step Grandmother’s Sally’s Grave.” In this story I wrote my step father in Gordon Wisconsin saw a creature in the woods. He would tell me about a creature in the woods around 1934-1950. The locations of the sightings were in Dairy Land Wisconsin and Gordon Wisconsin. Richard told me that he saw big foot. Richard and his grandfather saw a black creature in the swamp. Grandpa lit the swamp on fire. He used gasoline. They were terrified of this creature.. Grandpa died and Richard moved to Illinois to get away from the sightings of these creatures. The house they lived in was by a swamp with cranberries. The house was bought by hunters.

If you ask me, it sounds like a vampire. Tall, pale, fast, glowing red eyes. Its obvious. My only advice would be to be careful about this vampire/creture.

Yah I saw the DESCENT and while the movie didn’t really scary me I would be absolutely terrified if I saw something like one of those creatures/people from the movie.The scary thing too is that you and your friend have seen it on different occasions at various locations but in and around that area there in Ohio.
Hey, zander. Sounds creepy! I live in Ohio too, and I have had experiences too but I’ve NEVER seen a ghost head on, much less one that looks like it’s from the decent. I’m creeped out just thinking about it! Good story
Ive read stories about a thing called a seed eater or rag face. The description u had sounda like that. If i was u i would look it up. Or it could be a demon. Anyways its freaky stuff either way.
I saw somthing similar when i was about 7-8. i used to live in adams county up on Rt 136 north of west union. I remember we were across the road at my dads friends house it was just getting dark and i was playing in the yard while my dad and mom were talking in the garage and i saw this figure standing had to be about 300 yds away at the edge of the woods with red glowing eyes. it looked like it was grey or black. my mother also seen it and made me come in. when i seen the mothman movie it made me think of that. ive never seen the descent but i think i will have to check it out.
Yes finally someone who had the same encounter as me. Except this time the creature was in my house. it stalked my for a few days. First encounter was I was in bed about to go to sleep and it went after me then foursome it stopes and busted stared at me. Second encounter was when I was on my CPU upsatairs and it peered at me I saw it and immediately I ran downstairs. Third accounted was when I was in my upstairs bathroom and it peered in and looked at me I looked and at that second it was gone. Last and finnal encounter was when it was looking in the same bathroom again but I was in bed. After that I never saw it again. By the way I live in Arkansas.
