I come from a family of 8 and I’m the only one who has experienced these type of things.. I’ve had weird things happen to me starting from when I was about 8 years old. I’d wake up in the middle of night with this dark cloudy thing hovering over me, I can remember feeling very uncomfortable and it’d be hard to breathe. I’d always try to get up but couldn’t cause I felt like I was being forced down and I couldn’t move at all, it was like this really heavy pressure on top of me. And for some reason I couldn’t speak either cause I’d always try to yell to my sister across my bedroom for help, but nothing would come out. It would eventually leave me.
I’m now 17 and this has happened about 6 – 8 times, but one of my last attacks happened about a year and a half ago. It was definitely the most terrifying of them all.
My mom has a paper route she has to do early in the morning, and I had a little 4 year old brother that would get scared without someone sleeping by him. So my mom always yelled for me to come sleep by him at 3 in the morning.
My mom had left and I had gone into my brothers room. I was laying down sideways at the foot of his bed, facing the TV which wasn’t on, but I could see the reflection of the hallway and the bathroom on the TV right behind me cause the bathroom light was on. And I laid there awake just staring at the reflection thinking, when I saw this black cloud thing come from the hallway ceiling and come into the bedroom on the TV and then off the TV reflection, which it was now behind me. The air seemed to have gotten heavy and hard to breathe and I sensed something evil.
And then something really strange happened that’s never happened before to me, my back started getting really hot and I couldn’t move. It was there for at least 3 to 5 minutes just holding me down with a lot of pressure. Right before it left I heard it breathing, it was strange, it was raspy, deep, very fast like and loud breathing, I don’t know how else to describe it but it was just plain scary! the breathing only lasted about 5 seconds, and then it was gone. My back stopped burning and I felt the air get lighter. I immediately turned on all the lights and called my mom after that. That was the first time I’d actually seen it come for me, first time its touched me with a burning feeling and first time I heard it, and its definitely something I’ll never forgot, it was a lot scary then this sounds that’s for sure. I don’t why it comes for me but I would like comments and suggestions please

Hi there:
I have read many stories very similar to this one. They all have one thing in common namely, while under attack by the entity (phantom, shadow, etc.) they are paralyzed, i.e., unable to scream, yell, move. The attack lasts a few seconds or minutes then nothing, back to normal, back to business.
I trust these writers write the truth. If so, they probably have something in common in their biochem, blood, brain, essence, DNA, ancestry, etc. which makes them vulnerable or easy targets or even favorites of these paranormal entities. Or may be this is a chain reaction among writers who read stories of this sort, saturating their minds with the scary idea to the point of fretting their nerves into sensory hallucination?
The big puzzle is this paranormal occurrence only happens to these writers while lying on their back, side or any which way, sleeping, trying to sleep or just lazing off. I can only imagine what would happen if they were attacked while standing, walking, running or doing anything else not lying! Of course I still have to read this sort of true story … for a change!

I wanted to try to help you handle what is happening to you. At your local grocery store I want you to look for fresh spearmint. I shop at Wal-Mart and the spearmint is located by the fresh veggies. I want you to place fresh spearmint around your room and on or near your pillow. Spearmint offers protection while you sleep. The smell of spearmint to entities is alot like the smell of a skunk to us. This is only the first step though it will keep it at bay for awhile but it wont go away permantly til you tell it to stop. You must believe in yourself as you tell it to leave you alone. Do not attempt to ask it questions or acknowledge it in anyway other then telling the entity that it is not needed now or ever. I suggest learning Psalms 23 the Lords Prayer and reciting it after you tell it to leave. Most entities prey on fear, anger and negativity and most often haunt those that they can manipulate. Willing to talk more if you respond.
I’ve had this happen to me a lot when I was a child of 8, teenager and young adult. I’m a stomach sleeper and the paralysis I experienced started with back pain and then the feeling of suffocation. I tried to move but could not. I tried to scream but could not. I slowly tried to move an arm to help me turn around and seemed to get strength at times or I’d give up entirely. The one time I had gained enough strength; I was able to turn halfway with my back to the door and then heard a loud thump on the ground. I still get chills up my back just thinking about it and it happened about 20 years ago. When I turned around and looked down at the floor there was nothing there.
Most of the time when it happened I gave up out of exhaustion and then later found myself waking up which seemed hours later but wasn’t sure when it actually happened (could have been minutes earlier). These episodes seemed to have stopped when I moved out of my parent’s home at the age of 29. My parents are off the boat Italians and would often talk about “i fantasimi” as if they were everyday normal occurrences. My mother would wake up with bite marks on her legs and arms and say how the phantoms were terrible to her that night. I knew there wasn’t anything kinky happening in their room as it also happened when my dad was away.
I always felt relieved that I wasn’t getting bitten but just “sat on” and immobilized. I didn’t hear any breathing noises but I do remember that the silence was deafening. I never got used to it but never was too afraid of it either. Don’t get me wrong, I was afraid as it was happening but in time I knew it would be over in a few minutes. As an adult the episodes would happen but very infrequently… one every two years or so.
Well, it happened again last night (May 23, 2011) after a few years of its absence and at the age of 43. Again I was sleeping on my stomach and the pressure I felt on my back was all too familiar. I suddenly found myself paralyzed. Wanting to move but couldn’t ,wanting to scream but couldn’t, wanting to open my eyes but couldn’t. I knew where I was and what was happening but couldn’t do anything about it. There was something different this time. I saw an imagine in my mind of what I believe was the phantom… it was a woman (in a green type hew), she wasn’t young but she wasn’t old. She seemed angry but not violent. I mentally told her to get off of me as I struggled to move, I could hear my partner sleeping along side of me oblivious to what was happening to me. I couldn’t move anything to get his attention. Now I started to feel more pain in my back but wasn’t sure what was going on. All the while the face the eyes the stern look was all too real in my mind. I kept telling her mentally get off of me get off of me. Then as fast as it started it stopped. I was able to open my eyes and get a deep breath of air (not that I was suffocationg this time), but just felt the need to take a deep breath of air. I stood up on my side and looked behind me and saw nothing. The eriee feeling of actually putting a face to it was uncomfortable. I can’t say that I was scared for my life but I was made to feel unsafe and compromised somehow. I also remember a coldness that overtakes me even though I physically am feel quit hot, perhaps hotter than normal. The coolness I sense from above is unsettling. I didin’t share the experience with my partner when he awoke later this morning. I just cannot get the face out of my mind right now. I don’t recognize the face so I cannot say that it was someone from the past haunting me. But I do remember the stern look as though she was very unhappy with me.
It’s very rare and uncommon for these things to be real. It’s a figment of your imagination. Pray and ask the Lord to help you through this and tell Satan to get out of your mind.

This happened to me today!!!! I was taking a nap on my sofa lying on my back. And then i slowly opened my eyes and i put my head a bit forward couldnt speak or move and then i noticed in my left eye there was a dark shadow, but i couldnt move my head to properly see it, i closed my eyes and went back to sleep when i woke up i was fine and the shadow had gone. i thought i was the only one, sooo confusing and strange tho :S
This happened to me too!!! at the time of 3:00AM.. I was on my bed then suddenly when I opened my eyes.. I see a black man in front of me, it was soooo sccaarrryyy.. and I cant move nor speak.. I was shouting in my mind to call my sister but nothing happened. when someone knocks on my door, the paralysis gone and the black man gone too. If someone knows what are they this black man or “black demon”.
same thing happened to me last year… it was after a usuall friday night of partying.. i woke up at around 1:30 pm and said to myself that i need to go back to sleep lol so as soon as i closed my eyes .. a white shadow figure appeared trying to grab me.. when i tryed to yell or get up i cudnt do anything “PARALYZED” …. i cud feel and see everyhting around me … my eyes wudnt stay opened and wud keep rolling back and shutting and everytime theyd close i wud see the shadow figure. after desperation being muslim i mumbled a prayer in islam … and everything went back to normal /////// THIS SCARED THE >>>> OUT OF ME…. i didnt want to go to sleep at alllll after that scared me that it wud happen again.. when i told my grandma wat happend to me she said it was called “ONKTHI” in my language and said it happens when ur out at night usually and u step on a spirit or spit on a spirit or even pee on a spirit.. but she also said it can happen randomly … shes said it always happened to my grandpa R.I.P. ……. hope this helped u
