Thursday 19th August 2010, I was on my way to Nottingham, England to stay with my grandma. I’ve been staying here since I was a little girl but I have always felt the need to look over my shoulder and stare into the dark corners, even though nothing odd had happened to me in that house, yet.
This house always seemed a little bit too silent. Especially at night. You couldn’t even hear the pipes roar or the wind blow. Probably because an ex-policeman had owned the house before and had customized it to his standards. Multiple alarms, camera’s, locks, timed lights, strong windows, thick curtains etc.
So it’s 10 pm and I decided to go to bed. It’s not hard to sleep here as it is, pretty boring.
At about 3 am the light in the corridor came on with a loud switch which woke me up instantly. Wide-eyed, I ran into the corridor to switch it off, then ran back into bed and attempted to sleep.
About 5 minutes after trying to sleep my bedroom door started to open very slowly. I rolled over to face the wall so I could try not to notice it. I felt pressure on the bottom of my bed, as if someone was sitting there and I moved my legs about to see if there was anyone, no-one.
By now, my heart had started to beat vigorously, I could feel it pumping out of my chest. My hair was on end, my whole body was cold and stiff even though I was sweating uncontrollably. My whole body was shaking and my breathing had become very heavy, so heavy I had to keep my mouth open.
I felt a strong cold breath on the back of my neck, I pulled the duvet over my head, but I could still feel it. I could hear the loud breathing like an old man with asthma hunting for his inhaler.
It lasted roughly 10 minutes. I ran in to my grandma’s room as soon as I got the chance. I didn’t get a chance to explain why I was in such a state. She assumed I was cold, probably by the temperature of my hands. I got in to her bed, asleep in no-time.
The next day I decided to return home. I told my grandma why but she just thinks I was having a bad dream.
What do you think?

you know what you experienced! it was probably a old tenant. don’t be afraid of him and tell him to leave you alone and mean it when you say it!!
If you don’t live there, then it sounds like the ghost was curiouse of who you are. when you go back. talk aloud to the spitir and tell them you don’t mean any harm and your name. if it bothers you that much, then kindly ask them to leave the house and your family alone. i should know, i have a ghost in my house but like living there with it.
It’s not a bad dream. You know, I really can’t help myself but tp insult those who are like “don’t worry it was just a nightmare”. What you experienced is paranormal and is 100 % true.
The house is probably haunted.
I dont think that was a dream. Well usually when you have a dream you forget parts of it and that dream seemed a little to vivid. So I can believe that it could not be a dream.
befriend the ghost, its probably just curious
