Ouija Board and Ghost Notes

Posted on October 1, 2010

It was a cold autumn night. I was at a party with my two friends: Kylie and Harlynne. It was pretty early in the night, so not much was going on and we were getting pretty bored. Then, a girl came up to us and asked if we wanted to play a game. So, we said yes and followed her to the kitchen where a Ouija board was set up. We sat around the board and stared at each other for a few seconds before starting. The girl instructed us to put our hands on the little piece that’s supposed to move (I forgot what it’s called). She asked if anyone was with us. The piece started moving to ‘yes.’ None of us believed it. We all just thought it was this girl moving it, trying to scare us. She asked what their name was. The piece spelled out Kaevard. Then, she told Kylie to ask it some questions. She asked if she was going to ever get married. The piece moved to ‘no.’ Then, she asked if she was ever going to have kids. Again, the piece moved to ‘no.’ So, she told Harlynne to ask some questions. Before Harlynne could ask a question, the piece started to move. It spelled out ‘Drive slow.’ We didn’t know what this meant and weren’t fully convinced that we were talking to a spirit, so we continued with questioning. There were no more responses from the board, so we decided to go home. I rode home with Harlynne and Kylie drove home by herself.

When I got home, I noticed that my apartment was colder than it normally was. I went to bed anyway. I woke up at 3:33 am. I didn’t think anything of it. I sat up in bed for a full minute before the phone started ringing. I walked into the kitchen to answer it. It was Harlynne. She sounded like she’d been crying. She said that she was at the hospital where Kylie was. Kylie had been in a car accident on her way home and had passed away just before she called. I started crying and got into my car. I drove to the hospital where Harlynne and Kylie’s family was.

A few days later was Kylie’s funeral. Harlynne and I went. We took a lot of pictures of the flowers. After the funeral, Harlynne and I went back to my apartment to get something to eat. Harlynne was sitting on my couch looking through the pictures on her camera. In one picture was Kylie’s mom standing in front of the flowers with a young man standing beside her with his head turned toward her and his hand on her back. He was kind of blurry. We thought it was weird because we knew all of Kylie’s family and had never seen him before and because he was a little blurry while Kylie’s mom wasn’t. Later that day, we went over to Kylie’s parents’ house. We showed her the pictures of the flowers. When she got to the picture with the unidentified man, she started to cry. We asked her what was wrong. She started pointing at the camera saying it was Claud. We asked her who Claud was. She said it was Kylie’s older brother. We were puzzled. Kylie didn’t have any siblings that we knew of. She then told us that Claud died in a car accident before Kylie was born. He was 19 years old. His first name was Kaevard, his middle name Claudius. He didn’t like to be called Kaevard, so they just called him Claud. We immediately remembered the Ouija board. We had forgotten all about it. It was Kaevard warning Kylie to be careful. Then, her mom explained to us that she didn’t keep any pictures of him hanging up because it’d make them miss him even more.

Later that night, at my apartment, I walked into the kitchen and found a folded piece of paper sitting on the kitchen counter. I unfolded it. It read, ‘Kylie’s gone up.’ I knew it was Kaevard. Since then, I’ve been getting little notes all the time. It’s always the same messy handwriting. The notes sometimes tell me of things that will happen later that day or warn me of something. Some notes just tell me to have a nice day. Sometimes, I even feel his presence. I feel that he is watching over me, like a big brother.

I wish her brother would tell Kylie drive slow or you will die. One family 2 kids died of car accidents, it is too much for the parents to handle it.

  2. AnNa bites back says:

i’m so sorry about your friend, what an awful thing for you to have to go through. But in a way its very comforting that her older brother was trying to protect her from beyond and I think you should embrace his presence as he obviously has good intentions, like you said, as a big brother.
Sorry again for your loss, your story was very touching :) x
