Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

Back in the late sixties, my family attended a rural church in the woods of North Carolina. Well one night during evening service, my stomach started to become upset, so being that I was only about six or seven years old, my aunt had my older sister to escort me to the restroom. Now I guess you’re asking the questing why my eleven year old sister had to take me to the restroom. Well, back then, some of the older churches still had out door restrooms.

Now, we had a choice: we could have gone to the men’s restroom, which was about 30 yards down a path or we could have gone to the women’s restroom, which was about 30 feet behind the church, but on the edge of the beginning of the cemetery. Now, my aunt had given us instructions to go to the women’s restroom, being that it was dark outside and that it was closer to the church.

As we turned the corner to go to around to the back of the church, you could see the women’s restroom. So as we got to the edge of the church, heading towards the restroom. There she was. My sister and I looked at each other as the old lady proceeded to walk towards the restroom.

Now the thing about it is that she was coming from one of the graves! My sister and I stood there and looked as this white, ghostly, figure that looked to be someone from the late 1800s entered the restroom. Needless to say, we walked the 30 yards down the path to the men’s restroom!

Until this day, My sister and I always have been in agreement on what we had seen on that night at that old, country church cemetery.
