Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

Further to my previous submissions that are my own on this site ( see previous stories here ) I am also privy to the ghost stories of others ; this was told to me by a customer last week.

My middle aged friend and her 2 daughters in their early 20′s live in a house I guess you could describe as on stilts, in an outer rural area of Darwin called Humpty Doo.

These open air planned homes are best suited for the tropics, high off the ground to catch the cooler air and large verandahs all the way around.

They moved there about 5 years ago and the girls always felt creepy, particularly on the side of the house where the elder girl has her bedroom.

The mother initially dismissed the girl’s complaints as being upset after a new move.

The daughters found when they were in the bathroom at the end of the house they could hear people talking, considering this is a rural property on acreage we aren’t talking noisy neighbours and they are well back from the road. They could have no TV or radio on and be alone in the house and the girls would still be able to hear a conversation, as if someone was on their verandah – except of course…….no-one was there.

The mother advised me her problem was based on her bedroom, which has a modern leading edge of glass bricks which lead up to her bedroom door, clear enough to allow light in and enough to know when someone is there but unable to see any detail.

She told me it was quite scary to see the dark shadow of what appears to be a man, walk the length of the tiles to where her bedroom door is, except of course…….no-one is ever there.

They’re not too bothered by the situation and admit to an interest in the paranormal and admit ‘ he’s ‘ never done anything too intrusive to date, so they’re happy to let him be.
