My family usually visits Wales every year. Recently we have visited a cottage in Wales. We have been there two times now. The first time it was nice and cozy. I didn’t realize anything happening, however my family said that the keys had moved. The next night we did an experiment placing them in a specific place pointing towards the stairs. The next morning they had moved. That was the only spooky that happened… on our first visit.
On the first morning of our second visit we looked around, I found a book saying the cottage was 500 years old. This visit to the cottage was terrible. The doors closed an inch as the house was a bit slanted. It took force to close them completely. My family members said that they kept closing. I waited outside the door and it closed. I opened it immediately. And my family members were nowhere near the door!
The next morning I was downstairs with two of my family members, two more were sleeping upstairs. We all heard somebody run down. I went to investigate as I thought they went in the kitchen. No one was there. I went upstairs and the two family members were still asleep.
Later we went out in the daytime, so there was no need to have the lights on. When we came back it was dark and the light were on. There was no way we left it on. In the room that the door kept closing (it only happened in one room and only when one person was inside.) In the same room there was a rocking chair that kept moving. If you stared at it, it would stop. But out of the corner of your eye it moved.
The day after one of my family members had a box of makeup on her bed. She went downstairs for a minute, when she returned everything was on her bed spread out. Nobody in my family could do that and leave in a minute.
Now finally this was the freakiest thing that happened. We went to a tour guide and got a leaflet for St. Govans head, which is also haunted, I was reading downstairs when we decided to go out. I put it down and left. When I came back I forgot about it. Until I went upstairs and I found it in the bath! I have no idea how it got up there. It was cold so all the windows were closed. But to get up there it would have to go out of the room up the stairs and through a door.

The door part reminds me of what happened to my 1 friend. my friend and a couple of her other friends had a sleepover and they latched and locked the door and all of a sudden the door just swung open, they locked it again and once more the door opened.
Hi thank you for sharing your story…sounds like there was at least one spirit there..and it was trying to let you know it was there by doing little things to get your attention…I do not think the spirit meant any harm…just wanted to let you know it was there..I thought it was a nice act that when you left in the daytime and came back at dark that the light was on…kinda trying to be helpful to you.Have you or your family thought of researching the cottage or the land to find out who all have been there at one time or another…being 500 yrs. old I would think quite a few people had been there over the years…I myself enjoy it when the ‘house ghosts’ a.k.a. spirits are kind and helpful…but that is ‘my’opinion….not everyone looks at things the same way which is o.k….Blessed Be!
it sounds like you have a ghost in there! i think it’s trying to be helpful. like it took out all the makeup for your relative or whatever, and it switched the lights on for you. But, I don’t know how the other happenings are helpful really. anyways, it looks like the ghost just wants to make itself known.
