Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I have always believed in supernatural things ever since I was little. I have also had a lot of experiences, they may not be that amazing or scary, but they were scary enough for me not to forget.

Things all started in my old flat, where I lived for eleven years with my parents, we moved there when I was only a few months old, so I never really knew much about the old flat. Random things would happen, and for some reason I always hated being in the flat alone, (I know most people don’t like being home alone but this felt different) Even if it was that my mum was next door with the neighbors I hated it I had to go with her.

The flat was tiny, a one bedroom and three stories up. The creepiest place in the flat, was either the loft or the hallway. But I never liked sitting in the front room in a certain place because I could see into the hallway and it always used to creep me out. The same with where my bed was positioned in the bedroom, The door wouldn’t shut properly, I’d always wake up in the middle of the night and look down the corridor to the bathroom, I once thought I saw a face, and then seconds later heard footsteps walking towards me.

I spoke to my mum about it but she just told me that because it was dark, my eyes hadn’t adjusted and I mistook the coat for a persons face and that the footsteps had come from the people downstairs from us. I don’t know though I really feel deep down that it wasn’t me making the face, and that it was real, I was so scared that from that night on I had to sleep with a lamp on, and could not sleep unless someone was in the room with me. I don’t think it helped that my uncle had recently died, I was extremely close to him and used to write letters to him in a little book, which I kept under my pillow, His death hit me extremely hard and I don’t think I will ever get over his murder. I was only young when all this happened about 7 or 8. The footsteps and the face carried on for years until we moved out and moved somewhere else. I once asked my mother what was up in the loft and she said she didn’t know that one day she went to open the hatch and loads of sand fell in her face.

My next experience was when I was at my aunties house a few years later, my parents send me there every summer, it’s now used as my punishment.

Anyway I was in the top bunk top and tailing with my cousin who’s only a year or so older than me, and we was sleeping, I don’t know what was with that night, but everytime I kept falling asleep I would dream that I would jump off a building and Just before I would hit the floor I’d wake myself up by jumping in my sleep. This happened 6 or 7 times that night. Anyway I was woken up by someone stroking my face, I opened my eyes, and looked towards the corner of the door. There was a young girl standing there in a white dress, She had brownish blonde curly hair, she didn’t look scary, but for some reason I was terrified. I had never seen her before. She didn’t look like she was the type of person to hurt anyone, she looked nice. Scared, I pulled the duvet off my cousin and pulled it over me. I rolled over to face the wall and buried myself inside it. I felt someone pull the duvet off me and touch my ear. At this point I was sobbing my heart out, trying to wake my cousin repeating the same thing over and over again, “Chloe, there’s a ghost, Chloe wake up. Chloe please. I’m so scared. Help please!” I didn’t get back to sleep that night I waited until morning when everyone woke up then I went to sleep, I don’t know I just felt safe then.

Later that afternoon I was talking to my aunty and I asked her if she believed in Ghosts. she said yes and told me that there was one in her house. she said that she believed that a little girl and a older girl was in the house, she asked me why I asked her such a random question so I informed her of the previous nights events, she told me not to be scared if it happens again and that to just repeat in my head or out loud “Go away I don’t want you here”, My other cousin Kayleigh over heard our conversation and told me that she heard me last night crying but thought I was just having a bad dream.

I have experienced many other weird things in that house, sightings, conversations, things going missing, getting locked in the bathroom, Doors opening, my Little cousin playing with someone that no one else can see, Things moving before my eyes.

I did some research on the area that my aunt lives, and it turns out that her house and many of the houses in that area were built on old mines in the Ammington area. I don’t know what I saw that night or any of the other days or nights but none of the events will ever leave my mind. I’m going back there soon just before my 16th birthday I can just tell that something else is going to happen. I’m scared, but no one else believes me other than my aunty and cousins who have experienced things themselves.
