Ghost in Whitney Texas

Posted on May 25, 2011

When I was a young girl, around twelve I would say, I lived with my father, step-mother, and step-brother in a big green two story house in Whitney, Texas. This was a small town. Everybody knew everyone. We bought the house about a year ago, and I remember asking the realty lady if the house was haunted. She claimed it wasn’t, but after my experience I had one night in my room, I knew she was unsubstantial.

One night, while I was sleeping in my room, I got woken up by someone. The first thought in my head was it’s my dad. Half asleep, I saw something in white. Her face was blurry. It seemed like she was trying to wake me up and tell me something. I thought it was a girl because of her hair. She didn’t surprise me all that bad which was weird. I just rolled over and went back to sleep. Whatever it was, I never got any evil vibe from her. I didn’t really believe in ghosts and demons, but after this night I experienced, I started to believe.

The next morning, I didn’t really think to tell my parents. What if they didn’t believe me? I didn’t want to seem crazy. Later I put it in my head that I was just dreaming, but was I? It felt so real.

That night, while I was on the phone with my boyfriend, I heard tapping on the outside of my door. I thought it was my dad coming in to tell me to get off the phone. I waited for him to walk in but he never did. So I got up and looked behind the door. There was no one around. It startled me, because I was sure I heard someone.

A few years later, I moved out with my real mother in east Texas. I got a phone call one rainy night from my dad saying that he heard someone upstairs. I believed him. My dad is not the type of person that would just lie about anything. He’s a good Christian man.

A couple years later, I moved back in with my dad and we never heard or seen anything since 2003. Now its 2010, and I don’t hear anything. Maybe her soul got set free. Whatever it was, she was a good ghost. But I’ll never forget that night. I have never had any other experiences like that so far. But we will see. Now I believe in spirits. And if you don’t, I’m pretty sure they will give you a reason to make you believe!

Interesting story thanks for sharing… Too bad you didn’t investigate the history of the house and area just to find out who the girl was.

Pretty good story. I also wish you had the history, it sounds legit.
