Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

Hi everybody, I’m Jim. I’m 50 years old and never had any paranormal experiences until about two years ago. At least none that I’ve noticed. 3 years ago we moved into a townhouse. Two stories, three bedrooms etc. My wife made a friend in the school she was attending who is a licensed psychic. This person told us there was an entity of some sort in our townhouse. Little by little we started noticing some strange things happen around the place.

For example, one morning I came down the stairs as I was leaving for work. My wife and two kids were asleep. At the top of the stairs is a small closet with a folding door which normally makes a lot of noise when it is opened or closed. This particular morning the closet door had been left half open. As I reached the bottom of the stairs it sounded like someone or something bumped the door really hard.

Another time, my wife and I were lying in bed watching TV and the bedroom door opened on it’s own. The door had been unlatched but still it takes a pretty good force to make it open all the way like it did.

One day my wife was home alone lying on the couch when she heard the nearby office chair squeak and what sounded like someone sighing.

The strangest thing was as we were moving out. We had an appointment on a Saturday morning for carpet cleaners to come. My wife didn’t have the keys to get in, so I grabbed my key lanyard and went from our new apartment to the old townhouse to let the carpet cleaners in. I unlocked the door, then hung my key lanyard on the inside knob of the front door. The carpet cleaners came in and did their thing. Afterwards, My wife turned out the lights and locked and closed the front door and locking my keys inside. No big deal, we were coming back in three days and we could get my keys back them.

The following Tuesday we had the final walk through with the property manager. We showed up a few minutes early. My wife unlocked the door and notice it was chained (little brass security chain on the inside). I was able to get in through the downstairs window and unlocked the door. Strange–how could the door get chained unless someone did it from the inside? I grabbed my keys and put them around my neck. Also notice the light was on in the living room. After the walk through we went to give the property manager our keys. I took the lanyard from around my neck and discovered the key to the front door was missing! That was the only key we had to get in the place the previous Saturday.

It’s possible someone could have come in the window, chained the door, stole my key then went back out the window but that doesn’t make sense. If someone wanted my key, they could have grabbed the whole set and went out the front door.

My wife’s psychic friend said that entities will sometimes take things they feel belongs to them. She also said the entity was upset that My wife and son were leaving.

There were several other occurrences, but never anything that we felt were dangerous or threatening.

I just thought I’d share this with all of you and see what you thought.
