Another Paranormal Experience in Tampa

Posted on January 15, 2011

In 1998 I divorced my husband and my 10 year old son, and I moved in with my mom and her new husband. While my step father was building a small apartment on their property for my son and I to eventually move in to, we stayed in their home.

Several times I would pass by the living room and see what I thought was my son playing in there. (We kept some of his toys in a big tub in there.) I would always say, “Hey baby what are you doing?” Or something like that, while passing by. I’d realize after a few steps that my son didn’t answer me back, so I would head back to the living room to see if he was upset or something, only to find absolutely no-one in the room or in the house for that matter.

I would then look for my son, only to find him outside with my mom. There were only 2 doors leading outside, both were located in the foyer which was directly in front of the living room. Both of the doors were straight across from one another. One leading to the front yard and one to the back yard. In order to get out of either of them, my son would have had to pass by me. He clearly did not do that. I would then ask my mom if my son had just gone outside, and she would always say that he had been with her the whole time.

It was only after I established where my son was, and for how long he was there, that I would realize that the child I saw was not my son. The ghost child had a great deal more hair than my son, (It was the late 90′s and my son like many of the kids in Tampa at the time had buzz cuts with designs cut in. I.E. like lightning bolts, etc.) and the ghost child’s hair was a much lighter blond. (My sons hair is strawberry blond and the child I saw had yellow blond hair.) These were slight differences I didn’t notice at the time, but after I would take the time to think about them I’d realize that it could not have been my son that I saw it was only a child who somewhat resembled my son.

I saw the ghost child on several occasions, each time thinking it was my son. Even after my son had grown taller than the ghost child, I still thought I was seeing my son until I would find my son somewhere else. My son, mother, and 2 nieces have also seen this child. So I know it wasn’t my imagination or anything. I quit seeing him as often after my step father completed the apartment for my son and I. I’d only see him on rare occasions whenever I happened to be in the main house. However my mother, and 2 nieces continued to see the child until they moved into a new home in 2009.

Hi Tina. was the boy you saw doing the same thing in the same place each time you saw him, if so it could be a residule haunting, like a recording that plays over and over. did he
respond to your presence, (ie:) look directly at you. smile, speak etc. I’m betting it is a
    residule.

    Regards Pete

    seems he likes it there!

No he wasn’t always in the same place doing the same thing, but I mostly saw him in the living room. Once my son was lying on his bed reading a book, and when he looked up he saw the boy walk into the room. He watched as the boy passed by his bed, crouched down and moved towards my sons AC window unit with his hands stretched outward as though he was feeling the cool air. Then when the boy got to the AC unit, my son says the boy slowly faded away from his feet to his head. So I tend to think that the boy was an intelligent haunting. Because he seemed to be able to interact with things, such as toys, and AC units. We did ask our neighbors(Who lived in their home for 50 years…my moms home was only 28 years old) if any young boy had ever died in the house. They told us no, but they went on to say that there was a young boy who died near the property when he was hit by a car while riding his bike. I’m not sure if its the same boy or if something happened on the property itself before the home was built, and before the neighbors moved into theirs. The way the boy was dressed(red tshirt and blue jeans) made it impossible for us to accurately determine the time period from which he came. My guess would be after the 1940′s and before the early 1990′s when my mom moved into the home, but I may be wrong. I am just judging by what I know about fashion, and I may be way off.

Hmmm!! seems like I was wrong, it does sound like an intelligent haunting,
the little guy does seem to be harmless and not at all scary. you gonna let
    him stay.
