It all started on a holiday visit to my cousin’s place in Chandigarh, India. We had developed the habit of waking up late night and watching movies, gossiping. I had always been interested in paranormal stories and took keen interest in hearing other people’s experiences. It was during one of these nights, me and my sister were talking casually about the cemetery built behind our house.
There had been cases of unusual sightings and strange noises were heard. Though we didn’t exactly believed in all this, but the stories we had heard from our neighbors had convinced us to believe there was indeed something strange and eerie about the place. So that night we decided to take a stroll along the cemetery road. As we approached the area, we could feel the chillness in the air and the darkness of the night. The streets wore a deserted look. We could feel the silence in the atmosphere. Some fear crept inside our soul… and we decided to head back home.
On reaching back home, we no longer felt like talking about this. There was an unusual silence in the room and we decided to sleep. It was some where around quarter past three, and i woke up feeling a heavy sense of terror. It was as if something was pulling me down. I could feel a heavy weight on my chest. I could feel an excruciating pain in the lower part of my body. It was as if some powerful force was pulling me down. I struggled to get up but failed. It lasted long… the sensation was terrifying and painful… I tried shouting too but my throat felt choked.
The next moment I felt a sudden extreme pain in the back of my head like some one had smashed something hard against the back of my head. I heard my sister’s voice calling up my name… I could now finally get up… but I was in extreme pain and surprisingly was lying flat in the washroom.
In the meantime my sister rushed to my help and escorted me to bed. As I left the washroom I could see a shadow like figure near the window. I still couldn’t find how I got to the washroom.
It was a strange feeling as I know it was nothing near to sleepwalking but something extraordinary. It amazes me to this day. The pain, force I felt that day were indeed something close to paranormal.

I can’t tell if you are really haunted. It might be your imagination.
How can your imagination really cause severe pain to your body? It was a few nights ago that I was laying down at my grams, thinking about our late great grandmother. I felt like someone was sitting on my chest. Felt like my airway was constricted, I got short of breath. When I left the property, the feeling was gone. I do believe that spirits can be tied to places. Demons and poltergeists are never stuck in one place.
I tend to agree with Rosie, I think this was more likely power of suggestion than a true paranormal event. Ghost stories, late night walks in the cemetery, this sort of thing can get your adrenaline pumping and send your stress level through the roof. Stress can cause sleepwalking, and scaring yourselves like that could easily cause a sleepwalking event.
If you two decide to do any more ghost walks, try to plan them out and go early in the day. Taking the walk during the day would give you time to unwind before sleep and hopefully avoid falling asleep in an “alert” state.
If i were you rather than thinking it paranormal, GET TO A DOCTOR! obviously something was wrong! Silly if you blame something like that randomly on the paranormal,
Maybe you slept walked and fell over and hit your head, You dont know what you do when your asleep, it doesnt matter if you dont think you sleep walk, it can happen any time to anyone, you dont have to have a history of it. I would have had my had checked out at the doctors if i had had a pain like that. You probably mildy concust yourself!
