Although it was long ago I can still remember the eerie feelings I sometimes got when I was sure that there was something under the bed. Sometimes I would lay as still as I could hoping that maybe “it” would not notice me. I would be as silent as possible so that if that thing did come out at me I would hear it and perhaps have a chance to get away.
Children have always been fascinated with (and often terrified of) the paranormal world. They wonder about such things as ghosts and monsters and other strange things. The paranormal is real and it has been shown that children are more attuned to “noticing” it than adults who have been desensitized.

There's Something Under the Bed - Children's Experiences With the Paranormal
I recently obtained a copy of a book titled There’s Something Under the Bed – Children’s Experiences With the Paranormal written by Ursula Bielski. If you are interested in learning about paranormal experiences of children because of your own children or because you are researching this is a great book to have. It is practically a mini encyclopedia of the paranormal and children.
There’s Something Under the Bed will help you to deal with a child who has come to you and revealed that they have seen a ghost or encountered the paranormal world in some way. For many the inclination is to say something like “Oh it was just your imagination…” But let us be careful and not dismiss our children so quickly!
There is a section that talks about how to tell if a child’s imaginary friend is just imagination and how best to deal with that imaginary friend. Most of the time an imaginary friend is just that, but there are other times when that friend is much more.
Another section goes into all the evidence of past lives shown by what children have said. Often children will talk about their other life when they are very young, and often not able to speak very well. Why do children seem to recall events from an earlier time at such a young age?
This is an excellent book on the subject and I would recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the world around us and our children. Read through this book and you will find many valuable insights and ideas to allow you the opportunity to deal with your children in the best way possible. There are even fun things that you can share with your children, urban legends, haunted toys, etc.
