The Setting: The only public Liberal Arts College in Alabama, founded in 1896; The University of Montevallo. The University began as the Alabama Girls Industrial School, in 1896, which focused on high school and college educations for young ladies. In 1911, it became known as the Girls Technical Institute, then in 1919, the focus became college educations for women, and the name changed to the Alabama College for Women. Then in 1923 it became the Alabama State College for Women. These facts are important to the story, due to the tragic deaths of  more than one of these early students.

The University itself is a very lovely setting. The grounds of the campus were designed by the Olmstead Brothers, who designed New York City’s, Central Park and the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. Hands in Front of My Eyes

Ever since I was a kid I’ve been fascinated with ghosts. But, ever since I was 7 every night I’ve herd voices but I blew it off as me just being paranoid. I’m 15 now and early in the year something that I’ve never told anyone happened that I’m sure ill never forget.

The voices in my head had been extremely loud one night and they kept me up, so I watched a little TV. I got really tired so I turned the TV off and tried to sleep. As I was falling a sleep I herd someone scream my name (At this time I was sleeping facing the wall) and I felt something, something not right, something that did not belong standing in my room. First and Last Time I Ever Tried EVP

This story I choose to tell is long, with plenty of details. I want to get this out because even now, way after, I still think about it every single day and I am still terrified when I remember it.

About a year and a half ago, my then boyfriend and I were hanging out at his friend’s apartment. This friend of his is in a band that are mildly known in the local area, and have released albums and because of this the friend had the den  made into a home recording studio. The apartment was huge, three stories, three bedrooms. We would regularly hang out in that studio room. This studio had very expensive recording equipment, and recording program on a computer that showed a flat line when there was silence and spikes when there was noise.

A Gun a Ghost and Newlyweds

In May of 2000, my fiancé and I were soon to be married. After quite a search, we found an old former farm house (built in 1918), located in what was once a rural area but now is in the center of our small town. Family members helped us fix the interior, removing paneling from the walls, which revealed hidden windows and even an old front door not visible from the exterior of the home.

We had moved most of our possessions into the house a few days before our wedding, so I decided to stay there with my dachshund at night until we were married. Ouija Board Party Gone Wrong

Well last year my friends and I were into paranormal (Ouija, etc). Missy decided to have a Ouija party at her house. She had banners up and everything. We made a homemade Ouija board and I had explained the rules (like not to ask when you’re going to die, not to upset the spirits, etc) and we started.

We met a spirit named “Tyler” and had a huge crush on my friend missy. He kept pleading for help from us and we didn’t know what he wanted help with. He finally replied with “getting Missy to love me!” He started to make an 8 figure so I stopped him from making it.

Spirit Guide in the Cemetery?

I know this might sound crazy but I have had a constant contact with a spirit… OK so I’m still sounding crazy… I have always been very sensitive to the sustained souls that are around us. Ever since I was young I could feel their presences and am often times right about what I may feel the entity is trying to tell me. But what is happening to me now is something that is beyond me.

I found an old grave yard by my home and I have been going up to it and working on the old grave stones, clearing the earth around them and doing maintenance. There are stones dating back to the early 1800′s.

The Gargoyle in France

The Gargoyle often makes his perch On a cathedral or church where mid ecclesiastic style He smiles an early gothic smile ~ Oliver Herford.

These peculiar race of creatures which inhabit many places in France dating to 600 B.C. The purpose of a gargoyle was to drain water from a building. The word comes from the French ” gargouille” meaning “throat or pipe”. The statues have migrated away from churches and can be found on other buildings.

In medieval times people had a powerful belief in God. The cathedral was a “sermon in stone” which could be “read” by an illiterate population. Some gargoyles are illustrating Bible stories, from Eve’s first reach for the apple, to the images of eternal damnation. Not all were for religious instruction, many are simply grotesque, they were made so to scare off evil spirits and that’s why they were put on buildings.

The Dark Entity

This happen to me about seven years ago. I was 15 years old, my cousin just moved into a duplex kinda house and I went to live with her for a while because I was always fighting with my mom at home. I remembered the neighborhood was ghetto and so was the house. Someone even stole the a/c before my cousin moved in. Anyway the house had like an indoor porch and when I first walked in I saw a red stain on the floor near the entrance. I asked my oldest cousin what it was, but she didn’t know. It looked like dry blood to me. I even joked about it saying that some crackhead probably robbed somebody here and stabbed them.

The place had two bedrooms: one was for my cousin, her boyfriend and her kids, and the other one was for her younger sister, my other cousin. I slept in a room (well not exactly a bedroom) …

Sleepover in a Haunted House

In February or March last year, a bunch of friends and I were invited to my other friend Jackie’s birthday party. We went to the pool, which was of course indoors. That part was fun. But we left when it got dark and were dropped off at Jackie’s house. The setting alone should’ve warned me-it was a big creepy house in the woods. I myself am not partial to places like that, and looking back I wonder why I didn’t leave right away. But stupid me, I didn’t. Which, as it turned out,was a bad decision.

It started as soon as we got inside. There was this big glass room facing into the woods (actually in the woods really) and we kept thinking we saw things running around there, so we were scared to begin with. Ghost in My Townhome

In the summer of 2009, shortly after my kids and I moved into our townhome, I noticed strange things happening. At first it was just little things, doors would open and close, and lights would go on and off. Then one night after the kids were asleep, I sat in the living room watching TV. I could hear noises coming from the kitchen, it sounded like silverware clanking together. When I went to the kitchen, the noise had stopped but I noticed my silverware drawer was open. I hadn’t left it like that. I checked on the kids, still in bed asleep.

The next morning I talked to a friend of mine who used to live in my townhouse and she said things like that happened when she lived their also. She had named him Wilbur only because her husband didn’t like her referring to it as a ghost.

One of Many Ghostly Encounters

I had always sort of been able to see ghosts, or spirits, whatever you want to call them. I have many stories, and a tendency to write a lot, so I will try to fit as many as I can into this!

I remember when I was little I used to have nightmares about a girl, maybe 8 or around that age, and she either was pale (like me) or looked like a patchwork doll of sorts. It never really signified anything to me; at that age I was afraid of everything and was more worried about monsters and skeletons than serious business type ghosts.

Firehouse Basement Ghost

My dad was, and still is, a volunteer fireman in our town. The basement of his firehouse was converted into a relaxing area, with a pool table, TVs, and an electronic game system (with games like virtual air hockey or Conquest). Being a kid, I enjoyed going down there whenever my dad brought me along to the firehouse.

I had been going there since I was four years old, and nothing remotely strange had ever happened. So when I went down there one day when I was about 9 or 10, I expected nothing. I walked down the stairs slowly, since the light switch was at the bottom of the stairs (why, I’ll never know…). The layout worked as such:
