About five years ago, my family and I uprooted from our home of four years in the Northeast. We moved to a house near a lake in the Southwest. Our “new” house was a re-vamped lake cabin from the 1940′s. For the first year or two that we lived there, nothing of paranormal significance happened. As I grew older in the house, though, I started noticing strange things.

I think my first experience happened when I was about twelve. I was having a sleepover with my two friends from school, and we were watching a movie in my room. From the time I was a little girl around 4 years old, I could see things… ugly, evil things!

The first time I saw something I was staying the night at my dads house and I was sleeping with my stepsisters, everyone was asleep it was 2 in the morning and I was awaken by the coldness. When I turned to the right I saw this face it was black with sharp teeth and blood red eyes laughing at me it seemed, being that little I turned over and covered my face with the blanket!

The next day my sisters and I were playing, they had wooden bunk beds and I was climbing up the stairs when they started falling and I landed underneath them. 16C Cottage in England

I have seen a figure in my house and experience other things which I believe could be related to him. I have seen the figure clear as day light.

My cottage dates back to the 16C. I believe the man to be the owner of the old windmill up the road where all the grain would be stored in the barn part of my house. The man would stand at the entrance from the extension connecting to the barn part. He is approximately 6 feet white wears a long black draped coat with the collar up and an old fashioned hat. He looks straight at me between the collar and the hat. He would then stare until I looked away and looked again which he would be gone. I have seen him around 5 times.

Strange Shadowy Black Bat Like Creature

This is a “true story”. I know that people won’t believe me, but I really saw this bat like unrealistic shadowy creature.

I can’t remember exactly what time, but it happened about 3 years ago on one afternoon when I went to meet my aunt-in law at the Noble bookstore cafe’ to talk about my problems that I was having with my husband when he had an affair with another woman.

While we were talking, all of a sudden this strange creature came out of my aunt. It looked somewhat like the ones that guards in front of a haunted house (I really don’t know what to call them), but it was some kind of shadowy black bat like creature coming right out of my aunt-in law while I was talking to her during afternoon time at Noble book store café.

Shadows and Opening Doors

I am wondering if my house is haunted, is there such a thing as a shy ghost? I don’t feel a presence, or any strange feelings and I do not think it is haunted, but me and my daughter have experienced paranormal things.

My daughter was sitting in her room one day (it’s off from the den) and she happened to look into the den and she saw a black shadow peek out of the bathroom which is also off from the den. We could not explain it.

One day I was in the den and I was calling the dog, I saw the shadow of the dog on the carpet so I thought he was behind me. I turned but I did not see him, my daughter said he was in her room under the bed. What was the shadow that I saw?

I am middle-aged and until the last three years I had led a prosperous, active, almost blessed life with my husband, John, in a upper middle-class community. We were on the board of the homeowners association along with two other couples. I was not comfortable with these people (they seemed a bit sleazy to me) but John did not feel as I did and over a couple of years we socialized with them on perhaps a half a dozen occasions. John and I drank little (maybe once or twice weekly) and probably over a decade or more smoked marijuana two or three times.

When I was about 10 or maybe 9 I was in bed up the hallway.I woke up because my dogs (Bella and Mia) were whining really loudly. I didn’t think much of it so I went back to sleep. Then they woke me up again so I thought they wanted to go to the toilet so I let them out.

A Living Nightmare and the Dark Shadow

When I was younger I never believed in ghosts. My mom always told me don’t believe that type of stuff until I see it for myself because ghost aren’t real.

Well one day I experience something paranormal at my best friends aunt house. It all started on a cold night that I spent the night over there. My best friend’s aunt just moved to the house. I was excited for her and I wanted to take a look around when I got there. I looked around the house and went into the basement. When I went down there, it was this old bed with the sheets half off. It looked weird to me because I was wondering if she just moved in why didn’t she get the old things out the basement or whoever left the house for sale.

Night Terrors and Conversations with an Invisible Person

I am 18 years old and for as long as I can remember I have had a presence that has followed me around. My mother use to tell me stories of standing outside my bedroom when I was little and listening to conversations I had with an invisible person, it use to frighten her. Then it really scared her when I started to have night terrors.

For those of you who don’t know night terrors are different from nightmares because in nightmares an individual can distinguish the difference between what is real and what is a dream, in a night terror the human mind cant.

At first she mistook my night terrors for nightmares simply because they seemed like normal horror dreams until I started talking about my family and seeing their mutilated bodies lying around me. She noticed that when I would have my “episodes” it was harder for her to wake me and I violently escalated to physically …

Evil Black Shadow Over My Bed

This has been happening to me since I was 4 years old or at least that’s how far back I can remember it happening. I have always been plagued by horrific evil nightmares, but they seem so real I really do not believe that they are nightmares at all especially when I am still awake when it happens.

This only happens when I am alone. I’ll be in bed ready to go to sleep and then all of a sudden I’m in this “state.” I don’t remember falling asleep and when in this state I am in bed in the same pj’s, thinking about the same things I was when I was awake. I’m completely consciously aware. I start to feel this evil presence in my room and the feeling of evil is so overwhelming that I can’t move. It is positively horrifying and terrifying.

The Tall Shadow Figure and Footsteps on the Stairs

So my husband is an atheist and had absolutely no belief or interest in paranormal… until about 2 weeks ago. He states he woke up in the middle of the night because I was breathing “weird, as if blowing out b-day candles.” He said this happened twice so he knew he was awake. He went to wake me up and then out of the corner of his eye he suddenly saw a ceiling-tall shadow figure lurking in the corner of the room by the mirror. What really freaked him was that it responded like a person would and when it realized it had been spotted it took off super fast out of the room into the hall.
