Hi, my name is Jess and my family has a bit of a history with experiencing the paranormal (both my parents encountered the same ghost in our first family home in Ringwood while I was a baby), but until now I myself had not experienced anything.

My parents are now separated and my father, whom I live with, has remarried. About 6 months ago we moved into a house whose property had been recently sub-divided to make way for more units on the block behind us. The owners of the house had also really done up the outside by rendering the walls and adding a large deck – basically, a lot of changes had come over the property just before we moved in.

My uncle’s friend Darren used to live in a large house with three floors when he was a little boy with his mother, father and sister Hannah. On the bottom floor was the kitchen and dining room, on the second floor was the living room, bathroom and the mother and father’s bedroom and on the top floor was Darren and Hannah’s bedrooms and a guest bedroom. Once, their father got a taxi home and when the taxi driver asked him which house he lived in their father pointed to it and the taxi driver told him that the house next door was supposed to be terribly haunted. It seems that the hauntings may have moved into their house.

I’ve written another story (My Nanny died and I saw her in my dreams). It’s been five months since my Nanny has passed and it’s been really difficult. Since her death I’ve had weird dreams and strange feelings. In the dreams she always says she will come back, she has to go but she will come back. And she does.

The first house I lived in as a child is the one I lived in between the ages of two and nine. We had a large family (seven kids) so my parents found a very nice house that had 14 rooms and a finished basement. From the start wild things would happen. Doors would open and my mom would tell whoever opened it to close it again and it would. We would see shadows and other strange things.

Our neighbors thought we had a dog because they would see the face of what looked like a wolf in the windows. We kids would wake up some nights screaming. Other times my mother would catch me or my little sister talking to something they couldn’t see. Many years back when I was about the age of five, we bought a home from a old couple. The first few days were like any new move could have been. My parents unpacked everything and we hadn’t meet any of the neighbors yet. All of my sisters were really young like me. The home in which I grew up in rural Arkansas was, by all outward appearances, a completely normal and unassuming house. Situated next to a dense forest and built on heavily sloping terrain, its brick exterior enclosed several bedrooms and living areas on two levels, all evenly divided between a main floor and an equal-sized walk-out basement. Over the course of my 13 years in the home, I experienced several incidents that by themselves amount to little, but in totality (and with the benefit of hindsight) make me wonder if our family of four wasn’t always alone.

Events were merely curious at first; my bedroom lamp turning on by itself, for instance, or an unnatural and unexplainable noise that I’d casually write off. It was about 7 am and I was getting my son up and dressed for daycare so I could go to work. I usually left him with my sister, Monica, but she had gotten very sick the night before and my husband died in a car crash about a year ago. I was just about to walk out the door when I got an uneasy feeling, and started to feel really dizzy and light headed. So I called off of work. No big deal. I was 17 at the time and living on my own with my son, working one job, school and dealing with losing my husband and father, and sad to say but my mother was really not doing to well.

Talking to Ghosts

It all Started when I was three years old. I knew My Mom’s Grandmother (She was still alive.) April 14th 1996 She died. Two months later I actually had to go to sleep but I couldn’t because my Mothers grandmother was talking with me next to my bed. I am not a person who would remember such a thing, my mom told me, She said ”All you said was ‘Okay Grandma, I will grandma, I love you too grandma.”’ She also told me that after I said I love you, I laid down to go to sleep but my mom came in to ask what was going on. The only thing I said was, ”You’re pregnant and grandma knows and she loves us and is happy for you.”

The Gift of Knowing

I have been reading here about different people with gifts their parents had too. My mom and many in her family have a gift of knowing things. It’s like something is said in their heads and when they act on it – they find out the fact was true. So many examples – I could not write them all on here – it would make a book. I always felt the gift too. Me and my mom were shopping at Target. By the time we were done it was nighttime. I usually look out my widow in the car so I can see what we pass. Well my mom was turning the corner to get to the street and I saw a girl covered in wet grass like stuff. We were right by a ditch with the stuff that the girl had on her. She looked about five and it looked like she had long black hair. That was not the first time I had seen something like that.

Ghosts in my Childhood Flat

I have always believed in supernatural things ever since I was little. I have also had a lot of experiences, they may not be that amazing or scary, but they were scary enough for me not to forget.

Things all started in my old flat, where I lived for eleven years with my parents, we moved there when I was only a few months old, so I never really knew much about the old flat.
