The Ghost in the Linen Closet

I did not believe in ghosts when I moved my family into the brown rented house in Ironton, Ohio in 1975, but I would come to believe!

On the very first day and night there, I felt something strange lurking in the house, especially near and in the linen closet.  I felt cold, and the hair on the back of my neck stood up.  I also, felt a chill when I walked up and down the stairs, or when I was near the record player.

At first I shrugged it off as being just a draft from the door or window, but when it became too strong to deny, even though I still had my doubts, I decided to believe that there really was something there, and “talk” to whatever it was. I made a pact with the “ghost” and told it that I would keep the linen door open at night and play the record player often only if …

Real Haunting in Trenton Ohio?

I Live in Trenton Ohio. My husband and I lived here a few years before my daughter and grandkids moved in with us. A few weird things happened before she moved in but my husband just laughed at me so I let it go like battery operated toys coming on, doors closing when I know that I just opened, then as soon as it closed the toys in there would come on, feeling like someone was behind me watching me, and the shower head shaking while I was in the bathroom right in front of me.

My husband made excuses, like a cat could have been in the wall and stuff like that so I let it go. Then my daughter and grandkids moved in. Her youngest is three years old and deaf so when she gets up at night we are afraid she might get outside, if we yell for her she cant hear us. My husband kept telling …

In Tune With the Paranormal

Over the years I have seen and heard things from the paranormal realm… I watch Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State to learn more about everything paranormal. Since my husband has started to open his mind to the paranormal he has had just as many if not more experiences than I have. I want to share a few with you.

I think the first time he really became a full fledged believer was in our first house. It was very old (made in the early 1900′s). I had had a bad experience with the sensation of something lying on top of me in bed and me not being able to move – very scary… I told him about this and after he made sure I was all right said he hoped it never happened to me again. A few weeks later he had the very same thing happen to him! Scared him badly! That’s when he finally admitted there was more …

Haunted Bakery in Ohio

I own a bakery in Trenton, Ohio. I have had it for about 5 years. There have been many things happen there. It started with doors opening with no one there, then we heard racks shaking. My sister was working one time and heard the bell on the front door go off and saw a woman in a white dress come in and walk across the room. She said “I will be right with you!” but when she walked out to the front there was no one there.

There have been many occasions of untying aprons and slamming the bathroom door, and boxes falling off of tables that it had to be pushed off of. One time a girl that worked for us was filling some donuts and a proof box that was unused was opened and swung hard and hit her in the rear end. One of the other ladies was frying donuts and said she saw it. Those …

Haunted State Route 343

I work a night-time job, and I also live about thirty minutes away from my place of employment in the town of Clifton Ohio. Between Clifton and Yellow Springs, there’s a four-mile stretch of road, called State Route 343, which is the route I take on the way to work. I’ve only had three minor experiences on this stretch of road, which creepily enough, each occurred at about the same spot.

Story number one: It was around Christmas time about two years ago (I don’t remember exactly when, but the Clifton Mill’s lights were open to the public so that gives me about a month’s stretch of time) and a co-worker was driving me to work that night. We were driving down the road as usual, talking about whatever, when a car came down the road the other way with its brights on. Shelley flashed her lights and then dimmed them as the car approached. When the car was about …

Ghosts at Springfield High School

Hi. My name is Caroline and I go to Springfield High school in Ohio. I am going into my Sophomore year and the past year I have heard stories about the Central Building being haunted. The Central Building has been there since my Grandma went to high school and even before that. There are a lot of different stories about the first and second floors.

On the first floor there are only a few classrooms still opened, the rest are locked or barred up. Most of the students and even the teachers say that the locked doors rattle and screaming is heard. Most people didn’t believe it because there were only four classrooms opened down there and so most students were never down there.

On the second floor, there are about two or three classrooms closed. I’m not sure because I didn’t have any classes on that floor and the only time I did go on that floor was when …

Mom and Dad are Still There

My story begins shortly after my mother passed away in January of 2007. Both of my parents had been in failing health for a long time and we were finally forced to put them into a very nice assisted care facility in Ohio. Shortly after they moved in my mother passed away due to complications of heart failure in the early part of January of 2007. My father was very distraught over her death as they were very devoted to each other and had been married for 64 years. Just one month after my mother died my father passed away in February.

When we arrived at the facility where he was still staying the staff told us that he had been talking to my mother all day the day before he died, we found this to be very comforting to know that she had come back to be with him in his final hours. My parents had requested to be …

Ghosts on Floor Fifteen Carew Tower

Hello my name is Nick, I’m a 43 year old male from Cincinnati, Ohio. I do security work for the Carew Tower in downtown Cincinnati which now is the tallest and one of the oldest buildings here. I’m going to tell you a story here that’s made me a believer of ghosts, before I didn’t believe in that junk mostly Hollywood, smoke and mirrors I use to think until I worked the Carew Tower.

It all started when I started working here six months ago, while being trained by a fellow guard we will call “Ed” he told me that the building is haunted on some of its floors and he added that the 15th floor is where most of its encounters happen. The Carew Tower, if you Google it, is 46 stories and it has a jagged climb up. Well the Carew Tower is famous for suicides dating back to the 1920s, back then the windows opened like they …

Could I Have an Overactive Imagination?

I have a couple encounters. It all started when I moved into a house in Springfield, Ohio. I’m 21 now and it happened when I was around 15 – 16.

My first is when I was at my dads house for the weekend and it was around midnight. I was sitting down stairs with my dad an his wife, I got bored an decided to go up stairs to my room I stayed in while I was there. There is three rooms up stairs (a room on the rite, the middle room, and the left room.) Unfortunately mine was the one to the far left, well I didn’t turn on the light at the top of the stairs an walked through the darkness to my room an turned on my light.

The other rooms where really dark and spooky, well I was in the middle of my room just walking around trying to think of something to do when all …

My Ghost Watch Dog

I had initially found this house for rent on Craigslist. It was slightly weather beaten from a tornado last April, the almost two acre yard was horribly overgrown and the interior needed a coat of paint and new carpeting. After the owner LeeLee had given us the grand tour, and apologized profusely for the condition of the place from the storm and the previous tenants, I asked for a few moments inside alone. All was peaceful. I walked outside and nodded to my husband that the house was clear. House hunting for the spirit sensitive is to say the least, frustrating. As soon as he was assured there were no houseguests from the afterlife, he said “We’ll take it.”

It was my fortieth birthday when we pulled into the driveway of our new home. It had been a grueling twenty-four hour drive from Ohio in our minivan, with my husband following behind with the rented moving truck towing his car. …

The Doll Room

It was the summer of 1974, and I was five years old. It had become a family affair to join my cousin Paul and his close friends Rick and Rob on the weekends to film their amateur movies. They had dreams of becoming rich and famous film makers. They would write the scripts, plan out the locations and then with the help of all our cousins in starring roles, would shoot a movie with borrowed cameras over the course of a weekend. These independent films were the bottom rung on the ladder of their success. Eventually Rick and Rob packed up their reel to reel films and moved to Hollywood seeking fame and fortune. They were never to be heard from again.

I was of course too young to really be involved in much of their movie making endeavors. My mother however would usually be in charge of staging and packing up the equipment, and being a divorced mom would …

A True Truck Driver Ghost Story

On or around the year 2000, I was running a bid run from Gallipolis, Ohio, to Evansville, Indiana through Cincinnati, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana. One night I was headed home around 3:00 AM on route 32E., about three or four miles west of Sardenia, Ohio.

I was running along about 67 mph when I passed a flat bed tractor and trailer running along about 55 mph, which was the speed limit. About three quarters of a mile behind me and still behind the flat bed truck, I noticed flashing lights coming up behind us, more specifically they were red lights. As they grew closer I noticed it was the old type that spun horizontally round and round. As anyone would know today, if its not blue, then you don’t worry to much. They grew closer and closer so thinking it was an emergency vehicle of some sort I did slow down to 55 just to be safe.

The cruiser came …
