Poltergeist Activity on Old Farm Stead

Last night within my home my daughter (14 y/o) and myself experienced what I do believe was paranormal activity.

The home was built in 2010 on an old farm stead after a tornado leveled the original home. We have been living there since 12/2010. It started yesterday afternoon, when my daughter was taking a nap. Upon waking up about 4 pm to a noise, she discovered the kitchen chairs knocked over and placed around the living room and hallway. A jar of jelly was taken from the kitchen and placed on the living room floor. She had texted me to the events, and of course, I didn’t believe her.

When I got home from work I saw what she had described to me. I picked up the chairs and the jelly and put them back in their place. We then went to town. Upon returning back home, a pan of bread was placed in the middle of my kitchen floor. …

The Poltergeist Phenomenon

Lately I have been reading a book about poltergeists. It is titled The Poltergeist Phenomenon an In-Depth Investigation Into Floating Beds, Smashing Glass, and Other Unexplained Disturbances.

If you are interested in learning about poltergeists this is one of the best books you will find on the subject. It is full of case studies and interviews about various poltergeist activity.

One story/case I thought was very interesting was referred to as The Demon of Olive Hill.

In Olive Hill, Kentucky two paranormal investigators saw objects being levitated in a home. The family who lived there wouldn’t allow the researchers to stay because they feared that they had brought demons along with them.

I live in a small village in England. Me and my family moved in to our house last October and since then strange things have been happening to us.

A couple of weeks in to the new school term me and my sister lost our reading books. We got worried that we would be told off so we spent over 3 hours looking for them both; We practically turned the house upside down. Poltergeist or What?

My story took place when I was about 10 or 11 years old, but I think it may have actually started a little earlier. When I was 8 years old, my parents, my younger sister, and I moved in with my grandmother. My grandfather had passed away earlier that year, leaving my grandmother lonely and needing help keeping the bills straight. We were there to make things a little easier for her.

The house was(is) an old brick townhouse with only 2 bedrooms on the top floor and a bedroom in the basement. My grandmother kept her room on the top floor, my parents took the basement room, leaving me in the other top floor bedroom. My younger sister, who was 2 or 3 at the time, was supposed to share my room but ended up sleeping with my grandmother most nights.

I am not sure what the exact translation of the word poltergeist is in Hindi language. But in one of the local languages there is a term called “bhanamati” which is almost the same but used in much wider perspective. The chain of events that I am going to narrate can be loosely related to the same term. Before I heard about the incidents and got involved, the situation had already become quite serious and was drawing a lot of attention.

Poltergeist And The Evil Room

I had only heard about poltergeists a few times before, mostly in movies like ‘Beetlejuice’ and such but I had my first experience about a year ago.

I had moved up into my sister’s room when she had moved out. It was a large room and we had only lived in this house for about a year now.
