The Borley Rectory Poltergeist

Borley RectoryThe Borley Rectory Poltergeist is probably the most famous case of poltergeist activity. Borley Rectory was built in 1863 in Great Britain.

In the early 1930′s a fellow named Lionel Foyster lived there. Foyster kept a journal in which he recorded poltergeist activity he had seen and experienced.

There were literally thousands of events written in that journal. It seems that a poltergeist is a little bit different from the average ghost. Most researchers agree that a poltergeist is not a ghost, but is instead a manifestation of a some unknown energy. Opinions differ widely as to what the source of that energy is.

This is why poltergeists are known for noise and disturbance. Whatever the source, the energy responsible is a violent one.
