Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I use to work at Michaels Craft Store before it closed down in Montclair California. I was a manager there at the time, here is my ghost story.

One day before doors open for business, I was setting up a new end cap when I started to hear the women’s bathroom door slamming and water turning off and on, also the trash can was being tossed around against the walls. I ran upstairs as fast as I could to tell another manager what was going on, when she heard this she also told me that this place is haunted. We went to check it out, but nothing was disturbed.

Later that day, I was alone again when I heard my name whispered in my ear, it sounded like a man’s voice, I don’t remember jumping off that later.

Another time about 5 employees including me, were working the night shift. While I was standing with one other manager, we heard all the other employees yell one by one, “hold on we’ll be right there!” so me and the other manager walked over there and told them, what’s going on over here? They told us that Norma (which is the manager that was standing next to me, was yelling at them one by one “by name” to come to the back, now mind you guys she was standing with me at all times, she never said a word. One of the employees got so scared that she had to go home.

That same night I was on my knees picking up something that had fallen, when I saw a man pass me, he had black pants with a burgundy shirt, he was slim and tall. I jumped up to chase him, he turned to look at me and went into the next aisle. I ran to were he was at and, no one. I ran to tell the others, we searched and nothing.

The next night we all had to come at 12:00 midnight to finish it and the haunting also continued. There was a door between the warehouse and loading dock that locks at night, we heard boxes getting thrown across the floor and doors slamming. We didn’t want to go back there for anything that night, but when I had to get something from the back I saw a black shadow in the corner of my eye and it called my name. I ran out of there so quick.

That same night we had to make sure we didn’t leave any trash or anything on the floor, because we had an inspection that morning. When we were ready to go home that morning, my brother was out side waiting for me, when we all walked out and I got in the car, he told me “you left someone in there, I counted all employees and told him, no I didn’t. He said you left this guy in there he had a burgundy shirt on. I said oh my god! you saw the ghost! He said, what! I asked where was he when you saw him, he said, he was standing behind one of the employees caressing her hair. I told my employee and she never came back to work.

Well I must continue to tell you about that morning, remember I said we couldn’t get the floor dirty, well that morning when we left at 6:00 am the inspection crew came in at 6:30, and when they opened the door there was a soda all over the floor and a man’s footprints all over the floor. It seemed like someone took off there shoes and walked all over the floor. We all got in trouble for that prank the ghost pulled on us.

That night I came in with one other manager, we were upstairs going over on what happened that morning, when we heard tapping. Now we are about 10 feet off the floor looking over the whole store, we looked towards the window, and we saw this man standing there just looking at us. We ran out of there and we didn’t come in until other employees came to work.

The place is closed now, but every time I drive by there it freaks me out.
