The Crying Baby

Posted on June 1, 2009

My name’s Josh, I’m 15 years of age and currently living in Australia. I have always been able to communicate with ghosts. I have been looking at this website for around about three months. I have never had many friends, everyone at school thinks I’m “weird”, so this is the first time I’ve said anything about this to anyone.

For the last two years I’ve been living at the same house, and every night I hear it, a baby crying. The noise feels like its coming from everywhere, from the washing machine, from my wardrobe, and from the big group of trees beside my house, so for awhile I left it.

When I moved into secondary school I started to get a few friends or mates as I would like to call them. One night three of them came over, and we decided to spend a night out in the forest sleeping in the tent. We all sat in the tent, telling jokes, telling stories, talking about girls, that sort of thing. At about 11:30 I started to hear a baby crying in one of my friends sleeping bags, I woke everyone up. I told them about what I heard. At this age they were mature enough not to tease me. But then they started hearing the noise as well, the noise started coming from everywhere. Our fire blew out, so we went to turn our torch on. After we turned it on, my three friends put there clothes on and started to get ready to leave, they were really scared.

We were camped about two miles into the bush, so it was a long walk back. Once all of us got out of the tent we started walking, all of us still hearing this noise. After we had walked about 500 meters, the torch went flat. That was when my friends really started to freak out. They all went off there heads, and started trying to find the tent. The babies crying turned into a baby’s scream. My friends found the tent, so I thought that was enough for tonight, so I called my dad, and he drove his Ute and came and got us.

When I got access to a computer, I looked up the history of this place. I looked for hours. And then something came up. There was a river flowing through this big forest, and a woman called Elizabeth had went to wash her baby there, but she accidentally let go of it. The babies body never got found. I do not here the noises as much any more, since I have gone to the river and prayed for the baby and its mum.

Please, anyone who has stories to tell post them, its worth getting it out of your system.

I think what he means is getting it out of your mind- or off your chest; freeing the story by telling it….

Oh geez, i really shouldnt be reading this site before going to bed. Last night i was scared by the tiniest of noises lol, and to top it off we had thunder.
This reminds me of an american-chinese movie i saw where a chinese woman is bathing her baby but is so pensivley absorbed that her arms forget she’s holding the baby and the baby drowned. The mother was torn after that. I seriously cried after that scene.
@julianne, omg how irresponsible and careless were those parents !!

Wow. I will have take this time to account for strange happening this morning. As I lay in bed, I hear a loud crying of a sick baby. The cries are rough and laboring. I think to myself that the neighbors new baby must be ill and crying out loud. I wait and wait for the baby to soothe itself. In about 10 minutes or so, I can’t bear it anymore and open my eyes to see where baby’s noise is coming from. As it is not coming form the window that is next to my neighbors apartment, I strain my eyes to look at my computer to make sure I am not still in a dream state. Meanwhile the baby’s cry is very profound and laboring. I get out of bed and look into the living room from my open loft and the crying stops. This is the weirdest experience that I have ever heard in my life.
