I have always been very psychic since birth, thinking it is normal (it’s a shame less people believe nowadays). Me, Mum and step Dad Ian had to move house, the only one available was a place in Winnersh. I didn’t like it (I was four) obviously young children don’t like change so when I moaned I didn’t like it I was ignored.
We looked around the house, I clung to my Mum like a clamp. “Mummy, there are more people here, how can we move in?” I squeaked, “No, this house is empty Tiggy! Silly girl!” Mum replied stroking my hair like a dog. Knowing I am fae she knew what I meant but couldn’t exactly say much with the estate agent hindering us. As we walked through I got to see my new room. Honestly I loved the size and that it had a built in wardrobe, I thought that was fabulous! But another part of me kept a close eye on a certain wall by the wardrobe, I was not sure why but I knew somebody was watching me closely.
Moving time! Me; still not sure what to think. Mum: Wanting to repaint the whole place. Ian: creating a small music studio, naturally being a musician. The first night we stayed I had my bunk bed facing ‘the’ wall. It was Summer time so I could see everything clear, including the shadow crouched beneath my desk! I didn’t realize until I felt its presence so when I did see it I freaked! Hiding my sheet white face under the covers.
For a while I told Mum about this shadow, when it left, it reappeared by the back door in the kitchen! I described it as: A solid black silhouette with a hat, beak, boots and a cape. Being the age that I was I thought the plague was a type of risotto! Therefore this was strange. A week or so later my mum and Ian saw this figure standing there, from the sofa. It stood for two hours then just walked through the hallway and through the front door, it then carried on to next door! Our neighbors also encountered this spirit, less than us though.
We grew fond of this ghost, I once told it to look like a disc, so it did! We named him Tom, no reason for the random name, just instinct. Tom would appear a lot, daytime, night time when we had visitors.
I used to sniff out smells in the living room of rot, then roses. Like I know now that the plague used flowers to cover up the foul smell of death.
I remember one time when I sat in the lounge by myself watching the pink panther. Out of the corner of my eye there was something “dancing” like a small mug sized blob! When I looked over it switched and appeared next to me on a bookshelf! It was actually Tom boogying to the pink panther theme tune.
We are currently at a different location. If you live in Rainbow Park, No 3 then let me know if Tom is still there!
