I had a few experiences in the house I grew up in, most of them were related to my father who had passed away when I was seven. But this story does not concern them, for they were something my family and I dealt with in an open and loving atmosphere.
My story happened one night in the middle of July 1983 when I was fourteen. That summer had been hot, and we did not run the a/c in the house, we just used ceiling and floor fans to cool the house.
It was about two in the morning or so when I woke up in my bedroom. The room was like an ice box and when I looked down towards the end of my bed I saw a figure, or an apparition standing there. It was about eight feet tall or so, it was a cloaked figure with a disfigured white face, kind of long and drawn. I tried to scream, but nothing would come out of my mouth. I closed my eyes and told myself it was not real. When I opened my eyes again, the figure was gone and the temperature was back to normal.
From that time on, until about three months before I moved out on my own when I was 19 things happened. At that time it just became unbearable for me to sleep in my old room. At night I would always have a feeling that something was in the bedroom with me and I would feel dreadful, and being a grown man now, I have no problem saying that I slept with the lights on until I did move.
Until this day, when I visit my mom, and I sleep in that room, the lights have to be on, for when they are I do not feel a presence there.
My oldest sister has claimed to have had an experience as well in the bedroom when she has slept there, but will not say anything more of it.
Now just a week ago when I was online and checking out ghost websites, I ran across a picture on Bestghostpictures.com. On there was a picture of a church alter with a tall figure that matched the thing that was at the end of my bed. The picture was taken in 1963. When I saw that I got chills all over my body and had a vivid flashback to 1983.
