The Haunted Crucifix

Posted on July 21, 2011

Im a university student, living with my family and before that never believed in ghosts. A few months ago I bought a small necklace with crucifix something I had wanted for a while, with a very reasonable price. I bought it from an esoteric shop (it may sound a bit strange, but they sell crosses and Buddhas and instruments from other religions all side by side). Since then weird things have happened. I have never heard about religious or quite new things haunting: there were many of similar kind of crucifixes in this shop and none of them seemed particularly ancient.

Anyway, I took it home and in a few days started to notice weird things happening. It wasnt where I left it (on my table) and nobody of my family confessed that they have moved it. When I went to my aunts place for a week I took it with me. I heard strange noises at night that I have never heard before. I wore it around my neck then.

When I got back home I remember putting it on the bathroom shelf and finding it next day hanging from the corner of my locker (relatively high, I have no reason to put anything on the top of it).

A few weeks passed, nothing special happened and I started to forget the whole thing until I found that crucifix was missing from my jewel case. I found it from my little sisters room on the window sill. She said she has never seen it or touched it before. She also had bad dreams during time before I found the necklace in her room (she went to sleep in mothers bed).

Now I have trouble getting rid of it if I throw it away somebody else might find it, metal and glass doesnt burn either. What should I do?

    Hi,
I read your story. Is the cross new or used?
My guess is to take it a Roman Catholic Priest to have it blessed. If the priest faith is strong and not jaded then it will work it sure can’t hurt.
Reasons for not working will be the Priest Faith is not their anymore. Believe me it happens. I know several Priest who should not be a Priest.
Is anybody else in your home had negative dreams, or happens to them for when you bring it home. Do you have pets? I have a dog inside my home and sometimes when I bring somthing new he will bark at it I say out loud to the item I bought and say, I REFUSE YOU, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IN MY HOME, walk backwards outside the front door of the house and throw it away in the trash. And there are time he does not bark at the items I buy then I know it’s ok. and I keep it.
Good luck and let us know what is going on and what you decided to do.
    Thank you for your story.

thats the first time ive heard of haunted religious artifacts. but anything is possible these days. i would have it blessed,or get some holy water from the catholic church submerge it in the water and read psalm 23 over it. makes me very wary of buying things that were once someone elses.btw did your sister tell you what her dreams were about? im curious to know :)

You should throw it in a lake, preferably a big, deep lake.
