The Guardian Ghost

Posted on March 8, 2008

I have lived with my family in the purple and white trailer as long as I could remember. There are so many memories there. One of them is of the Guardian Ghost.

It all started when I was 11 years old. My young nephew was here with my older sister for vacation and we were sharing a bed because he had said he had seen a tall dark figure walking to the bathroom that was connected to my room. I had told him that he was just being silly and it was all in his imagination.

After that I just went to sleep again and was woken up by him poking me in the sides. He said that the ghost was there again. I looked out from under the covers and saw a tall black figure walking to the bathroom. I was so scared at that moment that all I did was go back under the blankets and wait fearfully.

We looked back out and saw that it was gone and the sun was coming up. At breakfast we explained the experience to my mom and my sister but all they said was that we were being silly and to finish eating.

A few years past and nothing paranormal happened and I had nearly forgotten that night. I was thirteen and we had some guests over and I was sleeping on my couch in the living room. I had woken up feeling a sort of cold thing on my chest and saw the same black figure I had seen, sitting on my chest. It seemed to be smoking something. It rose off of me and stood in the center of the room still making the gesture that he was smoking. It then shook its head and it sort of withered away to nothing.

I ran to my parents room and told them what I saw. My mom turned very pale and explained that her father had died of lung cancer in this house and described the same tall black figure that was her father. My mom was a smoker then and was very much like her father. From that day on, my mother never smoked again.

We call my grandfather’s ghost the Guardian Ghost because we believe that my grandfather was trying to warn my mother away from the fate that he suffered and to this day things have happened that none of us can explain.
