The Bedroom Demon

Posted on September 14, 2008

During my sophomore year of high school I was hanging out with some of the guys. It was close to Halloween time and since we were in the Halloween spirit we all began to talk back and forth about if we believed in ghosts or demons.

One of my friends spoke up and said that he had a true story about one of his family’s friends. The man he told the story about was a preacher and this preacher had a run in with a possessed man and a demon named MOD. The story sounded sort of ridiculous. I for one at the time didn’t believe in demons, so I thought my friend was making the story up.

A few days later I asked people if they believed the story or not. It seemed like everyone thought it was true. I told them that, “its all a bunch of crap, this stuff doesn’t happen in real life, only in movies.” So they dared me, “if I wasn’t chicken,” to ask MOD to please come visit me while I am asleep and prove to me that he exists. “No big deal,” I told them, I’ll do it. BIG MISTAKE.

As I stared up at my bedroom ceiling that night I closed my eyes and said out loud, “MOD I dare you to come visit me tonight.” I thought this was a big joke, thought nothing of it and fell asleep. Now, I have a dog that sleeps at the foot of my bed, and if ANYONE, even my family comes into my room, he will go absolutely crazy! Very late into the night I woke up due to my dog running back and fourth on my bed side, barking and growling. As I turned over to see what was going on I saw, to my horror, a floating head (its no joke). It didn’t look like a human head though, it was very pale and bony, it had pointed ears, black shiny eyes, and jagged teeth.

I was in shock. I couldn’t speak or scream out. Then the demon head started to speak to me. I had no idea what it was saying, it wasn’t English that’s for sure! It sounded so strange, words and sounds I have never heard before. The head then began to back away and shrink, it let out a horrifying laugh before it disappeared. NO SLEEP THE REST OF THE NIGHT!

I told everyone the story, and that I was a true believer in ghosts, demons, anything really. The story isn’t over though! About a year later I wanted to see if it could happen again, I don’t know why I just wanted to see if he would appear. I lay in my bed as (a lot more terrified then the first time) asked MOD to visit me. Well, he sure enough did.

Once again in the middle of the night I awoke to my dog going nuts! I looked at my door, and I thought I saw what looked to be a hooded figure standing there. “Its my eyes playing tricks on me,” I thought to myself, but I was wrong! The hooded figure began slowly moving towards me. I moved as far away as I could from the figure as I could, closed my eyes and said a prayer. When I opened them, the thing was gone. “THANK YOU JESUS,” I SAID! No more for me, that’s the last time I will do that ever again.

I’m very happy for you that the demon didn’t decide to do more than just scare you, this vile monster could have done far worse and you wouldn’t have had a decent nights sleep from then on.
Sure hope you learned a lesson about calling upon the diabolical for entertainment purposes.

A very good story teller you are! and I beleive you I guess. I know a little about demons, and know they are not to be messed with. but what does that name mean. I was told never to say the name of a demon or he will know you forever.
Either way, I liked your story.

  11. leelee says:

bad idea to call a demon by its name, they want the recognition, that’s why it visited you, lucky it left you alone tho. I wouldn’t call it ever again, tempting fate! Scary story

a demon! sometimes you may not survive in these types of situations, if it doesnt
happen right away then maybe in the long run…so please no more mod!! my life
hasn’t been the same since i played the ouija board!!! and that was 8n years ago.

Evoking demons involves long and hard drawn out proccesses. As one who has done this many times through varying systems of magick , I could say with some certainty this story is either 1 . wholy untrue or 2. Not exactly what it seemed to be.

  18. alexis says:

  21. NAT says:

WOW THAT’S CRAZY cant believe that you would ask him to come AGAIN i would have been so scared ..nothing like that has happened to me thaks god because i would die

  22. Kitsune says:

When I was young and fond of foolish things, I used to play with a Ouija board and on numerous occasions talked with an entity with that exact name. Nothing of a paranormal nature ever happened to me but I eventually wised up and burned the board. I think I must be well protected and for that I am very grateful. That name isn’t exactly common and it chills me that someone else encountered it. Please, for your own sake, don’t dabble with things that nobody understands. Blessings.

  23. Alex says:

I’m not saying I don’t believe some of the accounts you have, but I see a lot of people writing about waking in the night and ‘being held down’ without being able to move. This sounds to me like you suffered from something called ‘sleep paralysis’.

This is taken from wikipedia – Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM state, but the body paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully conscious, but unable to move. The paralysis can last from several seconds to several minutes

In addition, the paralysis state may be accompanied by terrifying hallucinations (hypnopompic or hypnagogic) and an acute sense of danger. Sleep paralysis is particularly frightening to the individual because of the vividness of such hallucinations.

The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely fanciful, or dream-like, objects (often described as looking distinctly demonic by those who experience the paralysis)may appear in the room alongside one’s normal vision.

Some scientists have proposed this condition as an explanation for alien abductions and ghostly encounters.
