Okay so personally I have had many, many encounters with things I’ve seen to be paranormal as did my mum when she was younger.
Some stories she’s told me have been mainly about hauntings in houses she’s lived or things associated with Ouija boards, where as I’ve experienced visions/dreams of things to happen before, my best friend when I was younger and I some how used to think we would hear each other speak exactly what the other was thinking when we heard it.
But one story that I will remember vividly is a run in I believe I had with a ghost.
My uncle had just bought this old train station about an hour and a half into the country from the city I live in…
I went out there one weekend to visit and due to how old the building is I decided to ask my uncle if he knew of any hauntings or anything associated with it. He proceeded to tell me that the previous owner used to use (what would’ve been used as the foyer when it was still a fully functioning station) the central room which was not joined properly to the rest of the house by an entry apart from a small window which would’ve been the ticket booth originally, as a play room for his son.
He continued to say that the owner would constantly be woken up at night by what he thought was his son down in the room playing with his electric racing car track, though when he would go down to the room his son wouldn’t be there but the cars would sometimes still be going around the track.
I loved this story and it made me laugh to think that maybe it was just a playful ghost. I decided to ask my younger cousin later if she would like to verse me in a game of pool, the room they happened to keep the table in being the same as the previous owner used for his play room.
As we went about our game I had almost completely forgotten about the story my uncle had just previously told me until one of the cues still fastened to the holder in the wall dropped off and slid across the length of the room. We were surprised at what happened but weren’t phased. Though I was amazed by the overwhelming scent now of soap and peppermint lingering in the room which I asked my cousin about but she couldn’t smell anything. I didn’t mind the smell, for some reason it was unbelievably relaxing and just made me feel so at peace with being in that room.
We then continued playing. It was my shot and as I was lining up my cue to hit the white ball it started shaking like crazy and then rolled into the pocket that was next to it. This I thought was getting a little weirder. We had to eventually go back into the main house as it was getting late.
The house itself I did not like at all, it made me feel so uncomfortable, I did not want to be there. Beautiful it may have been, but the unsettling feeling I was getting from being in there ruined that for me. For the rest of the weekend I continued to spend the majority of my time in the room with the pool table and away from the rest of the house. Every time something strange happened in that room though it didn’t bother me at all. I would smell the peppermint and soap and for some reason just feel safe.
I haven’t been back to the train house since my holiday there for the weekend. But I’m sure I wont forget it.
Occasionally I will randomly smell that same familiar smell and once again feel relaxed no matter where I am or what’s going on. I don’t know why its like that or why it started there. But I like to think that that (hopefully) playful entity just visits me from time to time to check up on me, and bella if its a time when I need to feel safe or calmed.
Does anyone else have anything like this? Or have an actual explanation?
