Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I am 21 years old, and I have been having paranormal experiences since I turned 18. The things that happened before I turned 18, I have shrugged off because I am unsure.

I’m not sure how to start this, so here we go.

Things started happening when I was about to turn 18. I was dating a good “Christian” guy and I thought he seemed harmless. That was until one night he told me when he was younger he had to be put into a mental institution because he heard voices, and had visions of murder. (that was my red flag to run away)

About a week after I broke up with him, I was asleep on my couch and I woke up to children laughing in my ear. I got up figured it was the TV and went to my room to bed. At 4 am or so I woke up to what felt like something on my chest saying my name. I shot up out of a dead sleep and no one was in my room, so I went and woke my mom up and asked her if she was in my room… she wasn’t thrilled I woke her up. Please keep in mind I live in a house with my parents, I’m the only child still at home.

After all of that things seemed to calm down, every now and then I would see something or hear something and ignored it.

I know I’m not crazy because my cousin/best friend has seen things when she’s with me. So much so my friends have made comments they see more black animals and more shadow figures when I’m with them. I don’t have bad luck and I live a good life so I know its not omens.

I’ve had many experiences and I’d love to share them at a later time, but right now I’d deeply appreciate anyone’s input on why this became so evident as I’ve gotten older. Please do not put comments up saying I’m lying because this is very important to me and I just need advice.
