It all start with an experience I had when I was 9. I saw the image of my great uncle that had passed from cancer a few years prior.
My brother and I were playing in my room doing rolls across the bed and when I stood up my dead uncle was standing in the door way. It was his image he was wearing his work clothes he owned an oil company so he had on his jump suit with name tag on it which I might add I never saw him in when he was alive. It was a ghostly image I could still see the wall behind him. I froze in fear he was standing in my doorway so I had no where to run. I turned to see if my brother was seeing what I was seeing but he was still playing on the other side of the room when I turned back he disappeared, I then ran to my mother who didn’t believe me, she said I must have been thinking of him in the back of my mind which wasn’t true he had passed a couple of years before. I thought about what happened and I always wonder why I froze, he was a very nice man and would never hurt me but the fact that it was a ghost I just saw was the shocking.
This is the part were my grandmother comes in. It was her brother. One day when I was visiting her she told me about an experience she had a couple of nights before she told me she was up getting a glass of water and she heard someone call her name so she look to her right were it was coming from and she saw her dead brother standing in her doorway as she walked towards him he back up and walk to the other doorway going to the living room and disappeared. She said she knew it was him and wasn’t scared.
I then shared what had happen to me many years before in my room. This discuss lead us to make a promise to each other that who ever died first would come back and let the other person know they were okay and to prove we can still communicate after death.
My grandmother passed five years later and she kept her promise. It was a week after her death, I was sleeping in my bed and she woke me up with a kiss on the cheek. When I felt the kiss I opened my eyes and I saw her standing next to my bed, I tried to get up and she put her hand on my shoulder as if to say don’t get up but of course when she started to walk away towards the windows I then got out of bed to follow her but she disappeared and the next thing I heard was my husband asking me what I was doing at the window. She gave me what I need because I know now that she is okay and she is still connected with me and she is still keeping her promises. I still speak to her and think of her everyday. I haven’t seen her since that night but I guess there is no need to she gave me what I asked for.
To all the people that have lost someone they love dearly I know they seem so far but they are still around us and we will be with them one day again.
