This happened in November of 2010, and I would like to get a wider opinion on what it could have been than my disbelieving family.
It was around 11 at night and I was babysitting a little girl who I have known for over two years, and before then I had never had a problem in the house (despite horrific babysitting clichs).
It was a really hot, humid day and the house still hadn’t cooled down by 11 so all the windows and doors were open, and being in Western Australia the house had quite a number of flies in it.
I was watching TV and I heard a loud buzzing noise, like a fly so I looked over towards the sliding glass door because I thought that a fly making that much noise would be visible from where I was sitting on the couch. My eyes locked on a cat sitting just outside the door, perfectly still, staring at me. It was a very pretty cat, in good condition, but what really freaked me out was that it was 1) looking directly at me and 2) it’s eyes were glowing red.
I freaked out. I mean, I watch Supernatural, I used to read Goosebumps, nothing good could ever come out of this situation, I mean, for God’s sake, I’m a babysitter! I was surely going to die!
Being the forthright person that I am, I decided to refuse to look at it, ignore it and hope that it would go away, praying that it wouldn’t be able to get in as I wasn’t ever going to invite it.
After about five minutes I heard the loud buzzing again, and five minutes after that I worked up the courage to peek at the door out of the corner of my eye and the cat was gone.
I don’t know whether my imagination was working overtime, or whether I truly saw something evil, but I know that I have not been so scared for a very long time.
What do you think?

a cat’s corneas can glow all kinds of different colors in different light. cat’s do stare and they are good at it!!
Lol
you are too funny.
I think it is your imagination, nothing needs to worry about.
Yes cats do tend to sit very still when there focused on something, my cat does it all of the time especially now. And there eyes do chance lots of color’s depending on the light.
As for the buzzing noise, it could of been the electric wires. I notice in the summer time here the electric line ( wires ) will make a loud buzzing noise from time to time. It sounds like a bug but it’s just the wires making that noise. So it could of been the wires that were making the loud buzzing noise.
it sounds creepy but i agree with trolldoll and the buzzing noise could be spider in the corner eating a fly …. :L
LOL!!!!!:) I love this place!
On the topic now, I also have a cat and her eyes can turn red depending on the light. Sometimes other colors too!
It was a demon. the buzzing noise is in the spirit world. you hear it if you ever had a OBE or did astral body projection. this demon came from the spirit world. It is another dimension. a lot of people do not know that. demons, ghosts, aliens and other paranormal things come either from a portal opening into our world. which is from another dimension. some pop in and out of this world with out a portal. not real sure how. but I know because I had a OBE and I heard a buzzing noise. I was projected into another world. I think demons travel into and out of our world. look for something that may have summoned it. like movies, books. something you bought used. items sometimes can carry curses or hexes. then the spirits will appear like you saw.
it could have been light reflecting off the cat’s corneas but having seen that many times the reflected light is usuallt white, was there anything in the room that could have reflected
the red colour?.
Animals eyes reflect different colors when there is light in them. Predators are red. Therefore, cats and humans are red. That is a reason why the cat’s eyes could have been red. I am not saying that is the only reason but that is a reason. Hope that helps. Have a great day!
lol
your funny too. if it was something it may havr been a one time thing a i wouldn’t think much of it. take care. thanks for your story
Yes, the cat’s reflective corneas are a spooky phenomena – I have 4 cats. Hunters can use the colour of the reflective phenomena or animal eyes to tell what they are shooting at – you don’t want to shoot something reflecting green its usually a farmer’s sheep! oops! It doesnt have to be night time to see that effect on a cat and they can come back red depending on the angle of refraction…….I’m sure as I live with 4 demons ( my cats ), and they also tear up my furniture when I REALLY call them some demonic names!
As to buzzing, I’m in Darwin and those hot days that don’t cool down – I’m not sure if its electrical or insect generated but I’ve experienced it before and didnt think it was paranormal at the time, though if you have been watching those kind of shows, I’m not surprised that type of a-typical baby sitter scenario came to mind! LOL
