Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

This ghost story happened about 11 years ago and was very devastating. My best friend Melissa and her older brother Jake was the best and greatest older brother anyone could ever have and I wish he was my brother. I know Jake would do anything for us, he stuck up for us plenty of times when we got in trouble with her mom. He was willing to give us a ride anywhere and picked us up anywhere. He was the greatest!

Jake was out at a party one day and they all got drunk, he wasn’t the driver but that night there was an accident that happened and he didn’t make it, he was only 17. The night that he died his mother had a dream that he was a baby and in her dream she was singing him a lullaby, then in her dream she told him to go to sleep, he looked up at her and said “mom, I’m going to sleep and I’m not going to wake up again” she woke up in tears.

Melissa had a dream that night too, but it was clearer. She dreamt that he came to her and he told her he was leaving, he wanted her to take care of herself, stay out of trouble, because he’s not coming back and he’s not gonna be there to take care of her. She woke up crying and there was that knock on the door, her mother opened the door and there was the cop that gave her the sad news, she got on her knees and cried.

On the day of his funeral I had decided to stay over at Melissa’s house and be there for support and because she was my best friend. The night that I stayed over was a night I would never forget and always regret for the rest of my life. I was sleeping next to her in her room, she was asleep and I was still awake looking around her room just thinking about Jake and not really believing what had happened.

There was a picture of him on her drawer and I was looking at it feeling very sad about this whole thing. As I was looking at his picture I noticed a sort of glowing fog in the corner. It was bright but it didn’t fill the room with light like if a car passes by you’d see the light filling the room but it wasn’t like that, it was very oddly bright and it was like foggy or smoky but you couldn’t see through it! Anyway, it got bigger and bigger and then it turn into a human shape form.

As I was laying there staring at it, it came to form (I am 150% sure I wasn’t dreaming). IT WAS JAKE! As he was coming closer he said “Ally, I need to talk to you.” I turned to Melissa on my right and shut my eyes and I kind of tugged on her a little bit to see if she would wake up but she was asleep and from the looks of it very comfortably too, I felt like he was focused on me and nobody else! My eyes were shut and I felt his cold breath or wind or whatever it was on my left ears and he said again “Ally open your eye, I need to talk to you” and I said “No Jake, I’m scared!” and I didn’t see him leave or disappear but I knew and felt that he left, I was in tears.

The next day I had told Melissa and her mom about what happened that night and they told me their story. It was a very tragic moment for their family because it was the saddest thing ever, and to all of you reading this and who ever one day comes across any experience like this, Please please just open your eyes, because I always say to myself, if I had just opened my eyes that night, what would he say. I missed him very much and I regret to this day for not opening my eyes and telling him I miss him and saying goodbye. I feel like I never had this closure with him and its very sad. R.I.P. Jake
