Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

This happened in 2004. My youngest son was born in September and my boyfriend at the time (Bill) and I decided to go to his parents house for the Christmas holiday so they could see the baby. We drove out to California, stayed for a week and were preparing to go home.

Bill was in the room we had shared packing his stuff, I was in the living room with my two older kids ( my daughter was 2 my eldest son 4) getting their shoes on. Bill brought out his suitcase and asked why Toria kept changing her clothes. I asked him what he meant, she was still wearing the same clothes I had dressed her in that morning. He said that while he was packing he saw her run down the hall by the room; once wearing pants and again in a dress. We laughed it off, obviously he was seeing things, Toria had never changed her clothes. We drove the 6 hrs. home that day to AZ. Everything was normal for about a week.

Then one night as I was cooking I had the feeling of being watched. I turned around and I was completely alone. I went back to stirring the pot and again could feel eyes on me. For some reason I felt that it was a child watching me. I turned around again but the kitchen was still empty. This went on for 10 minutes. I just shrugged it off as being weird and ignored the episode.

That night after getting the kids to bed I was sitting at the kitchen table reading and drinking a glass of milk. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a dark outline of a small child walking down the hall back towards my sons room. Where the figure was headed they would have walked into my birds cage (the bird is a cockatoo so the cage is very large), thinking it was my oldest son coming back from the bathroom, I jumped up to keep him from hitting the cage and help him back to bed. When I got to the front room it was empty. I checked on the kids they were all tucked into their beds.

About a week later Bill and I were sitting on the couch in the front room talking. We were talking about my daughters new “imaginary friends”. Her new thing was at lunch time I had to split her meal into 3 portions, put them on separate plates, she said her friends were hungry. As we talked about this the babies mobile turned on, the boys room is off the front room. Thinking my eldest son was playing around and had climbed up and turned it on I went to put him back to bed. Entering the room I found everyone tucked into bed sound asleep, the mobile over the bed wound up and running. I stood there in the dark room for awhile, but never saw or felt anything.

As little things like this continued to happen Bill and I talked about how it really creeped me out. As soon as we discussed how on edge all the happenings had me on edge, they slowed down and then completely stopped. Well at least for a year.

When the baby turned a year old we had a big party. It happened to be the last family functions that his great grandmother, Nan, attended. She became real sick and passed away shortly after. She gave the baby a little stuffed dog that when you pushed the foot it repeated the lords prayer, we had placed it on a shelf above his crib. The shelf is so high up that I have to get a step stool to reach it. As Bill and I sat in the front room talking about how we were glad that Nan was at least able to attended his birthday party, we heard talking in the boys room. We got up to go check, as we walked in we realized it was the toy, repeating the lords prayer, still seated on the shelf. This was the last incident to happen in our home.
