Having an already established presence in our Darwin ‘army house’ whom we named ‘Kevin’ – recently Kevin decided after a period of inactivity to kick out!
Whether or not this was a paranormal experience or just coincidence I started to ‘feel’ Kevin was in my room again (see previous stories). Subsequently, without having said anything further when a sensitive friend dropped me home one night they made the joke “oh I can see Kevin by your bedroom window” and as Kevin is pretty much an accepted house guest we take for granted, I wished later I had asked if my friend had meant inside or outside! Later that same evening without having said anything to my children, my daughter, Nea claimed as she was feeding my cat in my bedroom ensuite she saw a white shape outside my bedroom window whom she thought may be Kevin as it looked like a tall person!
That night I dreamt Kevin hovered over my bed as a grey mist and was literally ‘in my face’ – in the dream I reacted as I would have in character; I sat bolt upright and confronted him and got in HIS face told him to “go away! – I’m not scared of you! – get out of my room!” Twice the dream came and twice I told him the same thing. Coincidence or wishful thinking, I noted that the ‘feeling’ he was in my room seemed to evaporate after this dream.
I did note afterward while using the computer in the dining room, the ‘ol shadow in the corner of your eye trick in our kitchen – which has been a common sight at times and we attribute it to Kevin moving about. However, two nights ago my daughter, Nea came to me as I worked on the PC late at night and seemed a little lost for words.
“I think I’ve just had an encounter with Kevin” she finally blurted out. Nea’s bedroom door opens onto the side of the kitchen. I was on the PC and aware of shadow movement in the kitchen and after looking I guessed it was probably only Kevin and went back to what I was doing, when moments later Nea came out and told me what had happened.
It seems coincidentally, when I saw the shadow moving left to right across the kitchen and ignored it, it was moving towards Nea’s bedroom door. Nea had one of our cats in her bedroom at that very moment that was growing a little boisterous and keeping her awake, so she decided to let it out. As Nea opened her bedroom door to let the cat out, she saw a white face stoop down from the height of a tall man who appeared to be standing against the wall to the right of her doorway, he seemed as if to cock his head to one side and stoop down to look at her and see what she was up to. The cat jumped out of her arms and bolted under the dining room table and Nea ran straight to me.
Nea described him as having a squarish jaw and long hair and for a split second thought it was her brother until she realized it didn’t look like him, was white… and he had vanished.
Nea was a little shaken up but soon realized there was nothing in Kevin’s manner that was threatening, he was literally just having a look at what was going on and the only fear that existed she was creating herself.
As Nea returned to her bedroom she even yelled down the hallway, “Crikey Kevin! you scared me half to death – don’t sneak up on me like that! You scared me and I don’t like it!” as if chastising an annoying house guest… which he kind of is.
