Green Eyes And The Little Girl

Posted on September 13, 2008

My story starts at when I was about seven years old, I am now twenty three. I will try and put everything down as best as I can remember it. Or how it was told to me. There are two ghosts that we know of in my fathers house. The first one I will talk about is who we call Ol’ Green Eyes and the second one will be the little girl.

Now thanks to my older sister Kat I don’t have a fear of things grabbing me when I step off the bed or a fear of the dark. If there was an incident and either me or Kat had to go out into the dark she would make me go. If she had a fear of monsters under the bed she would make me look. Thus I learned at an early age to bridle my fears and just do what needs to be done. Panicking could be done later when the threat was gone.

Ol’ Green Eyes was first seen by me when I was probably about seven years old, maybe a little younger but definitely not older than seven. I remember I was laying in bed facing my door and I could not sleep for anything. I had this feeling that something was just staring at me. My bed was against the wall and I was facing the open room so I knew whatever was looking at me was already close enough to me to have done anything if it had wanted to, and at this point all it wanted to do was keep me awake. So I rolled over to look at the wall behind me and that was the first and only time I saw the two green eyes on the wall, just a little bit above me, staring at me. I then rolled back over got out of bed and went to my parents room which was across the hall and woke my parents up.

When my dad asked what was wrong. I told him that, “It wont let me sleep.” He said, “What won’t honey?” I said, “The green eyes. They just keep staring at me. They wont let me sleep daddy.” I then crawled in between him and mom and fell asleep. I can remember showing my mom where they were on the wall but I can’t remember if it was that night or the next day. I know I wasn’t dreaming about the eyes because my sister, my mom, and my dad have seen them at different times. My sister saw them in the middle of a slumber party of hers when some one turned out the light, playing around, which caused her to scream and then of course caused all the other girls to scream.

Now the little girl has done numerous things at the house at various different age points. Most of them were towards my sister. Over the years the little girl has been fond of “playing” with my sister. Kat has had things go missing a lot. One time Kat was writing a letter to a friend, she sealed the letter, turned to get a stamp, turned back and the letter was gone. I don’t think that letter was ever found.

A few things I can account for. I can remember things like being alone in the house and hearing the sound of something fall in my sister’s bedroom and when I went in there everything was fine or the door knob on the front door jiggling like someone trying to open it and looking out the window and there being no one there. There are two big events with the little girl though.

The first one is Kat’s account. One day Kat was in her bedroom with the door shut. She was on the phone with a friend of hers. She shut her door, took her hair tie out of her hair, threw it on her desk, and went and laid down on her bed. The hair tie flew across the room and hit Kat. Kat grabbed it and leaned up to start yelling at me to get out of her room. That was about the time she realized her door never opened and she could hear me outside beating and banging with whatever I had found to occupy myself with.

The next I’m not entirely sure if it was the little girl having her fun with me and Dad or what. Well probably about a month to two months after my mom and dad got a divorce, my dad and I were at home alone, Kat was at a friends house I believe. Anyway I was around thirteen and helping Dad lock up the house and shutting lights off and getting ready for bed. I remember walking down the hallway flipping light switches, telling Dad goodnight, and then going to my room.

About the time my head hit the pillow the smoke detector went off. Dad and I met each other in the hallway and the smoke detector became quiet. Dad looked at me and was like, “you smell anything?” I shook my head and said, “no”. So we walked through the house, noses in the air sniffing. Neither one of us smelled anything so we went back to bed. The same exact thing happened again, as soon as my head touched the pillow the smoke alarm started screaming. When dad and I met in the hallway it went silent. Dad took it off the wall and checked it out, the batteries were fine. Everything about it was fine. So he put it back. It didn’t, and still hasn’t done it again.

Anyway one day my dad was talking to our neighbors and told Mrs. Dishman (the old lady that grew up on the property next door) all the things that have happened. Mrs. Dishman said she wasn’t surprised and told dad she had a little girl (or a little sister I cant remember which) that used to love playing where our house is built and one day she got sick. She couldn’t play anymore on what is now our land. Eventually she got so sick she died. Now I guess she can play on our place forever. She always played with Kat’s things though. We figure it’s because I was more of a tomboy growing up and had GI Joe’s where as Kat had Barbie Dolls.

Kat and I don’t live at home anymore and Dad has remarried. But the little girl still does things. My step mom hasn’t been able to find a certain necklace for years and Dad sees the Little Girl every now and then out of the corner of his eye.
