Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

Sierra tells us about the ghostly black figure she saw in the basement.

One night I was at a friends house for a Christmas party/slumber party (read kayleas story for more info). We decided to go down stairs and play air hockey. I went down there and turned it on but the air wouldn’t start. I decided that maybe it had to warm up or something so I left it alone.

Well, everyone was jumping around and having fun. Everyone was close to the air hockey table, and the air started up. We were pretty freaked out so we all ran upstairs screaming. The scary thing was, was that no one had touched it. Some of you reading it might be thinking that, “yeah, it just needed to warm up.” But we didn’t care. We ran upstairs anyway.

We stayed upstairs and watched TV for awhile to calm our nerves. Later on we decided to go back down stairs and tell ghost stories. There are two sets of stairs to Kaylea’s basement. On the second set there are only five stairs. Well, I was first in the line on the way down there. When I was at the second set of stairs I was looking at the floor to watch where I was going. When I looked up, I saw a black figure in the doorway moving around trying to avoid getting seen.

I freaked out. Lauren was like, “Calm down Sierra! It was probably just your imagination!” I wasn’t very happy with her opinion, but I didn’t say anything. The thing I find most scary, is that when I saw the black figure there weren’t any lights on. So it couldn’t have been anyone’s shadow. I also know that it wasn’t one of Kaylea’s cats.

I flipped the light on and there was nothing there. I decided to calm down. We sat on the mattress that was down there and we told ghost stories like we intended to do. Kaylea has a stuffed cat that she took down stairs with us. She threw it on the mattress and it landed on it’s side. We were all telling ghost stories (as I say it for the millionth time) and we all looked at the cat. He was sitting up straight staring at us. We were freaked!

Everyone insisted that we didn’t set him up. Leslie, a friend who was there insisted that the stuffed cat was a “demon cat”. Then she insisted that we go back up stairs to play so that is just what we did. I still wonder about the black figure and the stuffed cat. I still don’t get it. I wonder if I ever will.
