Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I stumbled across this site, and realized that maybe there’s someone here who can help me. I feel like I’m slowly losing my mind.

Ever since I was small, I can remember strange things happening to me or around me:  lights breaking, strange shadows, furniture/items moving, and even more scary, experiencing strange blackouts. My mother always seemed to have an explanation for all of it or ignored it, and for a period of time (from age 10 until 14) nothing at all happened. I was tested for epilepsy and a broad range of mental illnesses, but nothing was ever found. When I confronted my mother about the incidents, she just looked scared and said I was imagining things.

The blackouts started when I was about 20 and living on my own. I’d be going about my day, and then suddenly blink and hours would have disappeared. My home would usually be completely trashed or everything would be moved around. I believe I may be doing it, but sometimes there are things too heavy for me to move that have been moved. (I found an old clawfoot tub from my bathroom uprooted and outside in the backyard. It weighed at least 200 – 300 pounds, and took me, my dad, and my brother to lift and put back.)

I keep finding strange and unusual marks, cuts, and scratches on my body, and usually in places that I cannot reach on my own. I’ve bought fresh fruit and vegetables, only to find that hours or sometimes even minutes later they’ve rotted. I’ve seen strange shadows behind me in mirrors or around corners. When I sleep, I’ve felt either freezing cold or burning hot fingers/hands touching me.

I have talked to priests, pastors, rabbis, you name it. Living in a small town, many of them treat me as though I should be institutionalized. Only a friend, a self-appointed Pagan priestess, has come and done a ritual cleansing, which seems to keep things calm for a few months.

I’ve come to the point where many of my friends and family have drifted away, labeling me as “crazy” or “disturbed.” I’m not. I don’t know what is happening to me, or even why. I don’t even know where to get help in getting rid of this. I sleep on average 2 – 3 hours per night, I am always tired/exhausted, and always scared.  These incidents have begun to escalate.

On the outside, I appear to be a normal, stable 32 year old woman. I have an 8 year old son, who’s seen some of these strange activities. He’s talked about being scared of “the lady,” but won’t elaborate. I work at a decent job, have a college education. Underneath, I’m barely hanging on. I need help.

If anyone has experienced this type of phenomenon before, or knows of someone who can help, please please let me know.
