Fairies And Elves Creatures Of Legend

Posted on November 28, 2007

A FairyWho likes elves and fairies?

Many of us have little statues, or even toys, made in the form of a fairy or an elf. They are some of my favorite collectibles along with dragons.

Most of the fairies and elves we see in artwork, posters, t-shirts and sculpted into figurines appear to be very friendly and often beautiful. In reality, that is at least in the legends and lore, elves and fairies are rarely harmless or cute.

Paul D Roberts, a True Ghost Tales guest writer, has written a very interesting article about these wee folk of legend and lore.

Roberts tells us about the history and background of mankind’s beliefs in fairies and elves.

You may be very surprised to find out how similar these creatures are to aliens. Is it possible that the truth behind the legends of fairies and elves actually originated from encounters with aliens?

Roberts also outlines the major types of fairies and elves with descriptions for most of them. Be sure to read A Look at Elves and Fairies and post your comments and ideas here.

Fairies are generally only mischievous. Goblins are the form of fairies that are vicious.

  2. Knight Wolf says:

I don’t believe in Aliens, so I’m inclined to think that stories of Aliens evolved from stories of Fairies, not the other way around. As for the existence of Fairies, I think it’s possiblt that at one time, mankind could have been shorter than they are now. Or there could have been smaller races of humans, similar to midgets, from whom the stories came from.

Elves are not Aliens. We are different from them. Mother Earth gave birth on us and Father Sky protected us, and when time for us to go, we embraced ourselves into the air and back to the arm of the Nature.

We try not to expose too much with human kind because we are considered as weird things. we are not weird, we are just same like human only we do not die in like human nowadays. Remember the old time when Human die in elder ages. Human can live until 500years old on the earth. that happen with us.

    Joeyi Kho…ur an elf…?
    That’s heavy….

How did u manage to get access to a computer if elves live in isolation and reclusion to humans?

I’m not prone to say you are a liar, because i know there is more to this planet then we perceive…
and i suggest others react in the same manner too, not only cause it’s ethically sensible but it eradicates any vanity or dogmatic traits in ourselves.

    Anyway take care man!
    With sincerity Alpha

First off, “fairies” are fictional. But “faeries” are real. And I agree to the idea that alien stories came from faeries. Alpha, elves don’t live in isolation. You might just know an elf. They really aren’t that different from humans.

  6. Valadhiel says:

First of all Elves most definetly exist. Second they (we) are not ailiens. The ailians mentioned in most stories of encounters are actually demons. Third the closest you will get to the trueth about Elves is in the stores by J. R. R. Tolkien. Even he did not know the complete trueth though. As for the one who speaks of Mother Earth and Father Sky, i know my friend that you are not truely an Elf. If you were you would know that Elves believe in and follow The One.

  7. saimon says:

well, i do believe that Elves really exists. They are exists in a human-form. a friend of mine is able to see or identify if a person is an Elves or not. In my country we have a different term for “Elves” but im sure it is. A friend of mine tells me that he is able to enter to the dimension of an Elves and faires world and is also able to talk with them.

  8. OpenMinded says:

I have been told I am of elven blood, and my friends have similar theories. It is true I have an open mind, I would like to know more about elven-kind. Thank you and have a safe journey down the road of life.

  10. Erin says:

If you believe in God, fairies and elves aren’t real.

I am suprised at this comment. Since when does the belief in God preclude the belief in faeries and elves. I do not remember reading anywhere in The Bible that elves and faeries are not real; or have I not read it close enough. I certainly don’t remember it saying they exist but either way can be attributed to the fact that The Bible is man’s interpretation of God’s word, how else could there be so many accpted versions of The Bible that have not been declared blasphemous as perversions of God’s word.

I am not giving voice to whether or not elved and faeries are real but I felt I had to respnd to that comment.

  11. fred says:

My father who passed away a few years ago at the age of eighty seven told me that when he was a teenager riding his horse that he noticed several small human like creatures holding hands and dancing in a circle as he was approaching them on his horse. He and his horse were frightened and were noticed by these creatures who seemed to be equally frightened or startled. The creatures ran out of sight and my father did not see them anymore. My father never gave me a reason to believe that he was not telling the truth. My question is what in the world did he see ? I have been a devout Christian for years and nothing could shake my faith, but I have often wondered what did he(and his horse see).
