Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I’ve posted a story before and although it might be semi-scary, this one is worse. It does involve the same people in my last story, me and my cousin Jess.

A month or so we had a scary encounter with what may have been a demon. A couple of nights before this, my aunt (not my Jess’s mom) had taken Jess, my other cousin, our friend Daniel, and me down this old, dirt road not far from where I live. She claimed it was haunted and we wanted it to be proven to us. She went to the end of the road and parked, but nothing happened there. Going back up the road, she went slowly by a spot that she said had something evil there. Note that this was all that she told us about this particular spot.

A few days went bye and Jess and I got curious. We went to the spot after school and parked there. Not long after we heard faint growls that we passed off as airplanes because it sounded just the same. When nothing happened we went back to her house. Later, Jess’s mom asked her to go to the store to get things for dinner and on the way home we stopped by the cemetery. I wanted to visit my grandmother’s grave because I hadn’t been there in years. We then pulled out the Ouija board and asked my grandmother about our demon friend, Henry. Through the Ouija she told us he didn’t want to hurt us and that she did not think it was necessary to get rid of him or the board.

After dinner, Jess and I got curious about the spot again. This time we decided to take her little brother. It was close to dark when we got there but figured it would be the best time to explore. We sat in her car with the windows down and tried to get this “thing” to make contact. When nothing happened, I took out my phone and started taking pictures. Nothing strange turned up in the pictures but we all started to feel real uncomfortable. I asked my cousin if we could leave and she said yes. She started the car and got ready to put it in gear, then she froze. Jess got this strange look on her face like she didn’t know where she was, how she got there, and she was looking around like she had never seen the area before. When I asked if she was OK and if we were going to leave all she would do is nod her head and say ” uh-huh”. A week before my friend, who is a Pagan, gave me a pendant that is blessed for protection. About a minute after my cousin was acting strange, I grabbed the pendant like I always did when I got nervous and asked again if she was OK. Before she could answer, there was this loud growl right beside her, coming form the road and nothing was there. This seemed to snap her out of this “trance” that she was in and sped away. It was real scary but the scarier part is that, even today, she doesn’t remember anything that happened between her starting her car and taking off. She remembers nothing from the minute that she was out of it.

I still have no idea about what really happened but I’m pretty sure that the only thing that helped my cousin that night was me grabbing that pendant. Now we even wonder if it was the creature growling at me because I grabbed it or maybe Henry was trying to protect Jess and the thing growled at him. But after we left the spot we went straight to my other cousin. We told her the story and after it she told us that’s why her mom won’t go to that spot again. Because the last time she was there she had heard the growling, too.
