Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

My Aunt Marci passed away tragically on 01/21/08. While crossing the street she was struck by a car that was speeding and lost control. She died instantly. It would be another one of those haunting cases where when someone dies tragically and they are confused about what has happened to them and they don’t know they are dead.

This first part of the story deals with my mom, brother, and sister. They were sitting up in the old attic room that used to belong to my oldest brother. While they sat there talking they heard someone come into the house. My mom, brother and sister were the only ones home at the time, so my mom sent my brother down to see who had come in. He searched the whole house but he found no one. He returned back upstairs and told my mom that he was not able to find anyone.

About five minutes later, after he returned, they heard someone walking down stairs again. Logically my mom assumed that my brother must have missed  someone and sent him downstairs again. My brother came back a few minutes later and said that he had not found anyone. Then he got an idea: he turned and faced the door leading out of the room (it faces down a hallway) and called out “Marci if that is you, you can come and hang out with us”. I’m sure that he thought that he would not get any response. He was wrong. Right after he said that my mom, brother and sister distinctly heard heavy footsteps start at the end of the hallway start to walk towards them, they still saw no one. It is interesting to note that my aunt walked with a heavy gate.

You would think that after such a profound experience like that happened there would be no more. But there is more.

My cousin Kenny, who is six years old, claims to have had an experience with Marci himself. Before I tell you I would like to say, he lives in a household where when strange things happen it is frowned upon to mention them and it is best to forget they had ever happened. However I don’t think that I will ever forget the story that was told to me.

Apparently, Kenny just came out of the blue and told his parents that Marci comes and visits and talks to him. I guess his parents mouths just fell open and all they could do was ask what she had said. Kenny told them that it was getting annoying but that Marci had told him that she was ok. I know, very creepy. I’ve been told though that children are more open to things like that because the rules of society have not been pushed off on them and they see things as they are, not as society would like them to see.

Now I would like to relate something that happened to me. My Aunt passed away on a Monday, but I did not find out until Tuesday afternoon. I normally wake up around nine each morning, but this morning I woke up at six. I thought that I had heard someone walking around my apartment. I tried to ignore it because I knew that I was the only one there. So I just brushed it off as the neighbors and rolled over on my side. That was when I heard something walking around my room. I just got this cold chill down my back and then I felt something breath in my ear. I flipped over on my side as fast as I could and there was nothing there.

I related this story to a friend the other day and he looked at me knowingly and said, “The witch was on your back.” I looked at him and shuddered, but had to know and asked what that meant. He said that it meant that a spirit was trying to communicate with me but it could not. I thought, great you just had to ask didn’t you.

I keep telling my family though that this is only the beginning, there are going to be more things that happen, my aunt is not done communicating with us just yet. Thank you for reading my story.
