Just wanting to get away for a few days, my daughter and I headed north to Eureka Springs, AR. It’s been a goal of mine to visit the Crescent Hotel for many years.
The first thing we do when we arrive in Eureka Springs is get directions to this fabulous hotel. As we drive into the parking lot, I can already tell this is going to be an adventure. I grab my digital camera (with extra batteries) and start taking pictures.
We planned to take the “Ghost Tour” that night, but when we started to sign up, ’something’ told me to wait, do this tour the ‘next’ night instead. So we went for a carriage ride that night, outside the Crescent Hotel. The ride was fun, breezy and very informative. (We were told a lot about the history of Eureka Springs). When our ride was over, we tried taking some pictures, but they were coming out blurry.
When I started looking through the pics on my camera later that night, I discovered something. There was ’someone’ else in the pictures. Right behind/above my daughter was am image of a man. The carriage driver had handed my daughter her dog for the pictures. The dog (a Yorkie) kept looking up and around my daughters head, as if he saw something that we couldn’t see.
Well, we took the tour the next night. At the end of the tour, the last place they take you is the ‘basement’, or what used to be the ‘morgue’. I took a picture in one of the rooms down there. In the picture there is a man standing by the wall, watching me. Other people on the tour with us looked at my picture and all had goose bumps and were ready to leave … ASAP!
At the end of the Ghost Tour at the Crescent Hotel, I walked into one of the rooms in the basement and took some pictures. After looking at the FIRST picture I took with my digital camera, I thought I heard someone (a man’s voice) ask “Who are you?”
That was kind of scary, because I was in that room alone for the first few minutes.
After we got home from our trip to Eureka Springs, I awoke in the middle of the night to find the blanket I keep on the end of my bed on the other side of the room, on the floor. Okay, maybe someone came home with us?

Jess has sent in a picture that was taken at the Crescent Hotel by James Nelson. Here is what she had to say:
“My nephew took a picture at the Crescent Hotel last Halloween, he was just trying to get a picture of the back of the fireplace in the lobby, when he looked at the picture on his camera there was a black streak in the middle of the picture, we were all joking saying he got a ghost picture, we pulled it off and put it on a laptop and got it to full size, turns out the black streak was a man, a transparent man.”

I am real interested in these pictures. They are not like other pictures. If they were orbs than I would have said it could be dust particles but you accualy caught the shape of a persone. I’ve been intrested in these things for a real long time and I’m thinking of starting my own Paranormal Research Group. …okay, that kinda disturbed me. I live in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I’m not so far away from Eureka Springs.
My Mom, my sister and my daughter and I recently went to Eureka Springs. We didn’t stay at the Crescent but we took a “self-guided” tour. I took a very interesting picture in the front lobby. I didn’t notice it until I put my pictures on my computer at home.
It appears to be a man standing by the admitting desk. Everyone I show it to sees it right away.
I, personally, do not believe in ghosts. I would have to see it with my own eyes, in person.
We’re planning a trip back in the future and we will stay at the Cresent.

that was very interesting and sounds like the experience i had when i went there. I have some photos of my mother in the “morgue” room and there seems to be an appirition standing next to her If you look very closely at it you can almost see the face and it seems to be looking at my mother very sadly. email me if oyu would like to see it.
I STAYED AT THE CRESCENT HOTEL BACK IN 2000. ME AND AN OLD BUDDY OF MINE, I BELIEVE WE HAD THE 3RD FLOOR. WELL I WAS LAYING IN BED KINDA GETTING THAT FEELING I WAS BEING WATCHED. WELL AS I WAS TRYING TO GO TO SLEEP I HEARD A VOICE THAT I BEST DESCRIBE AS A GROWL YELL INTO MY EAR GET OUT. I WAS JUST BOUT TOGO TO SLEEP, BUT WAS AWAKE SO I WASNT DREAMING. I JUMPED OUT OF MY BED AND YELLED AT MY FRIEND IN A MANIC ANXIETY AND SAID HIS NAME JASON, JASON. BUT HE WAS SOUND ASLEEP , SNORING NO LESS I THINK. HE COULDNT HAVE BEEN THE VOICE CAUSE IT WAS AN EVIL VOICE, DEMONIC WHO DIDNT WANT US THERE FOR SOME REASON. I FINALLY GOT TO SLEEP LATER BUT WITH ONE EYE OPEN SO TO SPEAK. PLUS IVE BEEN GOING WITH MY FAMILY TO EUREKA EVERY YEAR SINCE I WAS 7 AND ALWAYS VISIT THERE AND TAKE PICTS. there seems to be a horse as well in the picture, standing next to the man. Am i rite? coz u didn’t mention anything about it. Do you think the horse’s ghost also is present there?
Im not sure if anyone noticed but the man seems to be holding a silky terrier. A pet that is muched loved. He feels that someone is trying to take this little friend away from him.
The man must have been a farrier in his time . The horse was a source of income to him. The feelings are they were all killed in a fire . The look on his face to mind is saying he needs to be spoken to as he doesnt know where and how to move on and hence the what are you doing here comes from. The name doug has just come to mind . I almost go so far as to say there was a stable or home there before the current building was constucted. Someone should sit down with a cup of tea and seriously just have a chat.
First off – the ghost wouldn’t have been in colour. 2nd – if it really was a ghost it would’ve been a white cloud with a human figure. 3rd- ghosts don’t come out as detailed as that. The pants in the last photo were WAY too detailed. 4th – the first photo looks as if it was taken in clouds. Ghosts won’t appear in clouds or anything like that. 5th – the middle photo was blurred – so something could’ve made it look like a person.
That is realy creepy. I dnk what that looks like.
yea i see a horse too .That is really strange i live here in booneville close to the old sanitorium for the tb.I have heard some really strange stories from in there but i do wont to go stay at the cresent hotel sometime i think i may book a date today .
