True Ghost Tales

Back in 1975 I move out from home to an apartment in Parsippany New Jersey. It is directly across from the high school, it was apartment number 14 on the bottom floor.

When I first moved in about after a week I was laying in bed during the day when I got this feeling, like someone put a voice or a feeling in my head that someone died in this apartment. Now I have had feeling like this before of things that will happen or things that did happen. I try not let this “Feeling” happen. I don’t like it but sometime it just come through. Now back to my story.

After 4 weeks living there my first experience was around 11pm. I just got in bed and I was laying there try to get to sleep, I know this might sound crazy but I could hear music like rock and roll play in my head. This would happen all most every night for a week. On the 5th week I went to bed around 11pm and as I was making myself comfortable in bed, when I hear some one at my back door, opening the lock door. I thought it was my girlfriend (now my wife) coming over. I called out “Cathy?" but there was no answer. Now I am thinking I was getting robbed and the fear was setting in.

I could hear the foot steps of the person walking in my kitchen making their way into my living room. At this point the fear was taking over to the point of panic. I figured I would just lay there pretending to be asleep and this person would rob me and go away. I then heard the foot steps make their way to my bedroom door and I was freaking out. When all the sudden I felt someone sit on the end of my bed. I jump up with my bed covers in hand hoping to cover the person on the end of my bed and beat the crap out of them. All I did was hit the floor and no one was there.

I turn on every light in the apartment and check the door locks that were still locked. Now what confirmed that I did have a ghost living in my apartment… a few days later I had my brother and his girlfriend over and my girlfriend Cathy. I was sitting on my love set across from the kitchen doorway and on that same wall of the kitchen doorway I had a couch. On the couch closest to the kitchen door was my brother, then my girlfriend, and then my brother’s girlfriend. My girlfriend was talking, so my brother’s head as turn away from the kitchen door, my brother girlfriend was looking at Cathy, so she could see the kitchen doorway.

I was looking at Cathy when all of a sudden a guy appeared in the doorway. He was about 6 feet tall had black hair, glasses, a red and white stripe shirt, and blue jeans with brown boots and look around 30 years old. He had his hands on his hips and lookrd at everyone on the couch and then looked at me and smiled. And then he just disappeared. He was as solid as you or me. I thought I was going nuts.

All of the sudden my brother’s girlfriend said “who was that guy standing in the doorway?” Then once again I began to freak out. I did not say a thing about seeing the person. I did ask her to describe the person she saw, and she described the same thing I saw. I told her it was your imagination.

After that night I did speak to the superintendent and ask if any one died in that place and he said yes some guy died a few years back. I did tell the ghost, that I now live here, and had no problem with him as long as he did not scare me at night, and also to watch over the place when I was gone traveling for business. He never bothered me again.
