I don’t really know how to start. My name is Alex and I never really understood or believed the after life. My friends and other people have all told me its true and I just never totally believed it.
Anyway, this year on Memorial Day weekend and my family and I own land in Oconto, Wisconsin and were sitting around the fire on Saturday night. My cousins and I are playing football in the dark and having a good ole time. We finally get tired and I have to go to the bathroom… so being a guy I just took a couple steps into the woods and that was that.
After I’m done I look up and there is an older gentleman there looked like he was a very hard worker and a farmer, looked like a quiet person, scared I said “who are you?” and the man looked at me with sad eyes and said “I’m so glad your here” I didn’t understand it.
I ran back to the fire expecting this man to be there, when I got there and it was just the family. I looked at everyone and said where did that guy go and they all looked at me weird and said what guy? I explained how I just saw a guy and there is no way he could just disappear that fast. My family of course just said I was crazy.
Then my grandma looked at me and said, “well did ya leave him standing there” and I thought about it and I said “I guess I did.” The rest of the weekend I was very uneasy, not knowing what to think or what happened.
That Monday my grandma pulled out pictures of old family members and on the last page, the last picture… stood Uncle Bud… I said that’s him.
Now am I seeing things or did I really see my first ghost?

It’s really hard to say. I am not generally of the school of human spirits being autonomous and self aware after death. In other words, I’m more likely to believe that some other form of creature presenting itself than a human ghosts.
However, I have seen FAR too much evidence that people have a haunting and they find out some information and turns out the person they researched REALLY existed and was deceased.
My belief is that the “ghost” of humans are more like recording than self aware entities.
Nonetheless, I would have liked you to stay around a bit longer looking at the man. He might have been a flesh and blood transient.
OR
He might have vanished right before your eyes and then you wouldn’t be wondering.
Hi Alex
Did your Uncle Bud have any connection to the land in Oconto, Wisconsin?
It is possible you saw the spirit of Uncle Bud – but, (assuming it was very dark) is there any possibility that you simply stubbled across some chap wandering around amongst the tree’s? No knowing the layout of the land its hard to visualise how easy (or difficult )it could be for a stranger to just simply amble onto the land in question.
