Scary Ouija Board Experiences

Posted on August 3, 2009

The Lady In The Window / Levitation Of A Young Girl

About 23 years ago there was my mom, my aunt and all their friends were being naive. They joined up at a haunted vacant house. Or so they thought. One of my moms friends brought candles and the Ouija board into the house to do a séance.

They sat down around the board and started asking questions (this is when the horror starts). They lifted their hands off the board and all of the sudden the board flew across the room. Everyone turned to look at the window and found a mad old woman staring at them. Everyone looked at each other scared and said I thought this house was vacant. They looked at the window again and the lady was gone. They started to laugh and said mean things about her. They taunted her and laughed at her calling her a hag and an old lady. Then they started to wonder why the Ouija board flew across the room. One of my moms friends picked it up, and said maybe the old lady threw it, everyone laughed at her. They said it was impossible, she was outside. Spirits, the one girl said. They thought it was really cool, so they lit the candles and started to play again.

While they were busy asking questions, the candles blew out and there was no wind or breeze whatsoever. Someone looked at the window, there again, was the old woman. Everyone started getting freaked out now. “Was this the same house as the old woman’s? Does she still live here?” Everyone heard this house was vacant and no one saw any living presence here. They went outside to see if she was still there. The old woman was gone. Whoa… everyone thought.

They went to the graveyard down the road from there and looked around. They realized the last persons name to live in that house, and looked at her gravestone. They saw a picture of the old woman. It was the same woman they saw in the window. Oh, my gosh, my mom said. They saw that the woman was dead. The old woman was a ghost. They were stupid kids. You know teenagers, they like to be curious and get in tons of trouble.

They lifted up the gravestone and saw all of the fingernails of the old woman under the tombstone. They were dirty, and black. They screamed and put the tombstone back. They all ran back to the same house stupidly and found that the Ouija board wasn’t where they put it last. They found it on an old dusty table. No one touched it. At this point my mom and aunt didn’t believe much of ghosts, or the Ouija board. It was more of fun. They wanted to be scared. But in reality they knew that there was a living presence in that house, but they never saw it. The air felt heavier on their shoulders.

They wanted to do another séance and wanted to forget about the things they’ve seen. So they wanted to lift someone off the ground. There were about five girls and my mom was the one on the ground. They all closed their eyes and put two fingers on each side of my mom and believed that she could be lifted. Someone must have been believing a little too hard. It was true, you could be lifted. They lifted her on all sides and she was as light as a feather. Two people let go, she was still floating with two people holding her. The other two got scared and let go of my mom. She was floating in the air still when there was no one holding her. There was someone holding her though. An unseen person.

Everyone screamed and ran off out of the house including my aunt. My mom started to scream when she opened her eyes to the screaming. She was floating in midair! She started to squirm. The person holding her let go, and she fell to the floor. She screamed and ran off trying to find her friends. Until then she never came back to that house. She knew there was something evil holding her, and that woman must’ve been evil too. She was unheavenly.

She believes in ghosts now, sometimes it takes proof. It was more than enough proof for her. And she never used the Ouija board to contact the spirits ever again.

Very, very scary!! I’m a little confused about the fingernails, though. They were able to lift up the tombstone? And there was a pile of fingernails there? Very scary story anyway, thanks!

  2. Jonathan says:

why? It sounds made up but it also sounds like it was written by a child and maybe a lot was left out.

  3. SomeoneNotImportant says:

ugh, I probably would of went to the house but if I saw the old lady I’d haul ass out. But I don’t think the spirit was evil, I just think your mom and friends pissed it off. I mean a bunch of little girls going into my house, see me then make fun of me, and then go to my grave try to take the marker, then going back to my house to see if they could get rid of me? Hell I’m surprised that spirit didn’t follow them home to give them hell.

yeah i agree about the finger nails and why they would be under a tombstone. and yes young people can act foolishly when it comes to the board. i hope your mother’s friends and sister are ok today. have you try questioning them to get there side of the events that happened? and try to look up the history and occupants of the house from the woman’s time. just don’t you yourself try to do what they did, this should be a lesson to everyone!!!

  5. CuteSagittarius says:

The ‘levitation’ part resembles the one in the movie ‘The Craft’! So, did they have anymore paranormal encounters after mesSing around with the board? GoOd story…write again if u find out more from ur aunt or ur mom!

  6. monii says:

  7. vanessa87 says:

The fingernails threw me off..Not sure about this story

  8. Dark_chaos says:

ok theres no way kids could lift a stone that big. And do you mean she scratched the stone or her nails were under it?

    wow im lost….

  9. melissa says:

I think tht tht was a good story but the part about the fingernail under the tombstone thing sounds made up. u cant lift a tombstone and none of the passed persons body parts or posssessives wood b rite there on the ground they woood b buried like 5 or 6 feet under. but other than tht., good story

this is some scary stuff my friend and i made one once and my room wasnt the same after the first night wasnt bad just crazy that it actually worked but the second night it got bad as soon as we placed out fingers on our moving piece we didnt need to ask any questiond the bored had a mind of its own!! it told us that there were 17 bad spirits in my room and we flipped out and made them all leave and then destroyed the evil bored!!!

  11. voodoo child says:

Sorry I do not believe this story. And why would they lift up a tombstone? How could they lift up a tombstone. I wish people would just tell the truth.

  12. DarStarr says:

Amen! Voodoo Child!!!! You hit it right on the head!!!!!

  13. chunk up the deuce says:

    this is intresting

  14. brittney says:

The tombstone thing confuses me to because when my nephew passed away at birth my sister got him just a regular tombstone and the place that sold it to her said it weighed 4 or 500 pounds and it took 3 large men to lift it. so how is it possible? i’d like to know.

  15. CathyS says:

If you ever visited an old cemetary, a lot of the very old headstones were small thin and rather lite. As for the finger nails underneath the headstone…maybe it was some ritual. I have no idea, but just to give some idea as to why and how.

  16. a says:

Hey these stuff are dangerous. Spirits can not be harnassed by humans. Why bother contacting them when you can get killed after that?

  17. Katy says:

voodoo child – You wish people would tell the truth? Dont go to the vampire forum/stories then, they’re all a bunch of liars.

I dont believe this story either, it was the sort of thing we used to make up when we were younger, very similar indeed. But i believe very untrue!

    • Caretaker says:

Katy – I do appreciate it that you came to the website and posted your comments BUT I am sorry but I have to say that is quite a statement for you to say that “they’re all a bunch of liars.” In fact I post there myself and I know a few others personally who post there and we are NOT liars. It is fine to say that you dont believe a story but when you call people “liars” you are insulting them and name calling which is not permitted. Normally I would have deleted your comment, but I leave it this time so I can make a point to everyone who reads this. In the future such comments will be deleted from the site.
