Well I want to start out by saying that I believe in the paranormal and I always have. I have had experiences since I was about 7 years old and that was about 16 years ago. But my most recent ones have been while I was employed at my families catering company.
My family actually purchased this company almost 6 years ago from a woman that we had gone to see and book for my up and coming wedding (which never happened). As soon as the papers and what-not were signed and we started working in the first building (We have leased several), strange things were happening. I cant even remember the first occurrence I had, but one that sticks out in my mind is when I was moping up the men’s washroom at a Christmas party as someone had made a disgusting mess when all of a sudden I felt sheer terror and had to get out of there. When I turned to run out, I turned right to the mirror and seen that there was a man standing there in old western clothes and he didn’t look very happy. And me being female, men were made to wait outside the bathroom until I was finished my job in there, so there wasn’t anyone in there but me.
And another incident with that same washroom happened when my three year old niece and I were walking down the hallway towards one of our banquet rooms that was located next to the previously mentioned washroom. We got about halfway down the hallway when all of a sudden she absolutely refused to walk any father down the hallway. I asked her why and she just said “No! Scary!”
My sister, not knowing of either of the occurrences, came running into the kitchen one day seriously the most scared I have ever seen her. After she calmed down enough to tell us what was going on, she said that she had just seen a man dressed in old western clothes walk into the men’s bathroom!
Another really haunted area of the building was the third floor. A co-worker and I were setting up lights and plugging them in so we could show that banquet room to a couple for their wedding, when all of a sudden one of the lit up pillars in the middle of the room went out. We both looked at each other and then at the floor and saw the plug lying on the floor and we just ran out of the room. Lots of people have had experiences on that floor.
There is a back hallway that I refused to go into because it was always freezing and had the creepiest feeling. And when I absolutely had to go back there I always ran because it felt like someone was chasing you out of there.
We were also in a building on the same area of land. It was actually a huge exhibition building that housed the P.O.W.’s during the second World War. But that place as well was extremely haunted. I have seen ghosts walk through walls and will not go to the washroom by myself there. But the location we are in right now has to be the most haunted we have been in.
The first experience I had there was when another girl and I were folding tables and putting them away after a night function and we were the only two people left in the building. There are a set of doors that lead into the kitchen that stay open if pushed back far enough. Well that night we had them propped open and as we were folding a table we both saw out of the corner of our eyes a pair of black pants from the knees down walk past the doors. Thinking it was my dad I went into the kitchen to say hello and see if he needed any help doing what he came back for… I looked through the entire building and couldn’t find him anywhere. So I went back and told her that I couldn’t find him and we were both kind of creeped out but didn’t really think anything of it until about 20 minutes later, my dad came through the back door and said that he had forgot his paperwork! That totally creeped us out, so much so we decided that we had enough and left for the night.
I went into work the next day and was talking about what had happened, and one of the ladies that has worked there for the past ten years told me that the man that built the place in the early 1900′s haunts the place and is usually seen and heard at night. Almost everyone in my family has had experiences in that place and one day my sister was talking to my dad about one of her experiences and he started saying how he didn’t believe in that junk and what-not. She than told him not to mimic the ghost and all of a sudden a light bulb came straight out of the roof and crashed at his feet! Needless to say he doesn’t make fun anymore.
I know it sounds weird and childish but every time I go there I say hello to the ghost and every time I leave I say goodbye, and since I started doing that I haven’t had any experiences. And I do a lot of work there by myself. But that’s enough stories for now Ill post more later, when my fingers aren’t sore anymore. Hope you enjoyed your reading.

cara, can i get a job there!! it sound pretty busy! and all you have to do is greet them and then say goodbye. i guess if you can relate and respect the living, you can do the same for the dead. great post and i look forward to many more! keep a journal and write down everybody’s experiences. tell us what the place used to be back in the early 1900′s. don’t be afraid of them, they are just people without bodies!
