There is a Ghost in My Room

I found this site and I thought I would share my experiences. My dad has always told me stories about the houses he has lived in as a child and even the apartment he’s living in now were haunted. I figured that something like that wouldn’t happen to me, with ghosts and all.

Sometime in the beginning 2008, I was trying to sleep and I finally fell asleep. I’m not sure how long I was sleeping but I was awaken by a yell in my ear which sounded like a males voice. No males were in the house at that time, and it came from my right side. On the right of my bed is only a wall, so even if a male was home how would they yell in my ear on my right of my bed? Anyways, I just shook it off and went to sleep.

Then, not long after, in the beginning of the Summer, I was …

Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 15

Have you read the previous parts of this story? Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 1

Having already ‘grown up haunted’ soon it was my children’s turn. My son was around 5 or 6 when he gave the first indications he could see ‘things’. Coming home from school one day he announced cheerfully “I saw a ghost at school today mummy.” Given my history, I was well prepared that this day may come and I was determined not to handle it as badly.

“What did it look like?” I asked. “mmmmm a bit like white plastic in the wind all wobbly” he began starting on his cookie. Sensibly, I did wonder if he had just seen a discarded plastic bag caught up in the wind whip around the playground. “What was the ghost doing at you school?” I asked keeping it all very casual. “It was looking in all the windows” he said “it came along on my side of …

Strange Random Things Paranormal?

So I’ve never really put any of these things together, but it seems that perhaps there’s something paranormal in my life. First off, I’ve always had an odd sort of luck. Not like winning the lottery luck or anything (though that would be nice), but more like not getting hurt when I really should have been or somehow accidentally just missing being in a bad place at a bad time.

The first thing I remember as clearly seeming out of the ordinary happened when I was probably about 13 or so early one morning. I was about to head outside with my dogs to help my dad with the horses in the barn (it was one of those New England chilly foggy mornings). I got to the garage and realized that needed something from the house (I don’t remember what now). I went to go back out the door and it wouldn’t budge. It wasn’t locked, and it opened inwards …

Only I Could Hear That Awful Noise

Well this all started when I was about 8 to 9 years of age. I’m now 12 and I still think of it. I have more scary stories to tell but I think this is the most scariest experience I’ve ever had.

When I was 5 I moved in a house we built. I had no trouble till I got a bit older. The first time I had this I was in my bed and everyone was asleep. I was just looking around my bed room, then all the sudden I heard something like people talking, but  it wasn’t like talking that I’d talk to my mum it was something like gibberish and people moaning like ghost sounds sorta thing, its hard to explain. My bed room was right next to the kitchen, so it sounded like it was coming from there.

I was scared and wanted to go to my parents room but I was so scared I didn’t …

Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 14

Have you read the previous parts of this story? Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 1

Now a mother myself and aware children have a bit of a window into the other world we tend to close as we grow older, I did entertain an experiment with my son. Asking a question not many parents would put to a two year old – very casually over lunch one day I asked “who were you before I was your mummy?”

Unlike an adult who would process the question and reject it with their own reality as a silly question, my son took it as face value and answered me! “Oh, I was Mgumbo,” he said munching on his sandwich. The name always stuck in my mind, because while it sounded made up and like gibberish, yet it reminded me of that 50′s/ 60′s movie set in Africa with Clark Gable and Ava Gardener.

Instead of rejecting or projecting my own interpretation …

Compassion Can Be Dangerous

I have written on this site before of my own experience with my Father’s spirit. Since I had my encounter, I have been collecting the paranormal experiences of family and friends in an effort to try to gain a better insight into my own experience. Sadly some are not as positive as my own. The following is an account of my friend Adele’s terrifying experience.

After the break up of her marriage she found a lovely three bedroom flat to rent. It was over the top of a corner shop and very close to the children’s school. The shop keeper who was also the landlord had painstakingly restored all the period features and it really was a beautiful place. She felt she had really landed on her feet and was looking forward to a fresh start.

Within a few weeks of moving in she began to hear the soft pad of a young child’s footsteps running up and down the …

Small Church Cemetery on Route 110

Spring, 1965, I finally had my driver’s license at age 16 and enjoyed my role as gofer around my Dad’s monument builder’s shop. Since age 12, I lived a boring existence moving from home to school then, after school, to a back room with not much else but a drawing board, then back home again. Carried back and forth by Mom’s taxi or on foot. Being a gofer with a new set of wheels came as a step-up in life!

Dad came to me, on this fateful day, and handed me a roll of rubbing paper. This is a wax-coated blue film that a designer will lay across the face of a monument and rub away the wax to leave behind an exact image of the craving from the stone. It is used when duplicating a design or, as on that day, to copy the layout of an existing monument so a stonecutter can come along later to engrave additional …

Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 13

Have you read the previous parts of this story? Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 1

My life with the paranormal went on the back burner when I married and moved into a lovely ‘normal’ house where I personally never saw/ heard or sensed anything much to my relief and I got busy raising my son and daughter.

The “gift” as we prefer to call it causes a lot of unusual coincidences in my family and appears to be hereditary. My two sisters and I now live literally at three cardinal points on the Australian continent, as far away as we could be from each other without getting wet. Yet, without fail every year – either Christmas, Birthday, Mothers Day – which ever – from three cardinal points on the compass – my mother has stopped counting the times she will get three identical cards from all three daughters or three identical presents.

When my middle sister had a car …

Jaque’s Evil Spirit

All my life I have been aware of presences surrounding me. Presences not of this world. From a young age I have been aware of spirits, my mother thought they were imaginary friends. However she has learnt to understand my skills in contacting the dead. Now in adulthood I have become a professional medium. Meeting spirits and learning about their lives is my life. I have only ever experienced good spirits who wish to be found. However, one month ago I met a spirit called Jaque who did not wish to be found. I will tell you of the terrifying meeting of events which accumulated on my first meeting with Jaque. I hope telling this story will end the haunting of me and my loved ones.

I was called to a friends house who claimed she was being haunted, I was asked to research it, which I did willingly. As soon as I walked in the door I felt cold …

Little Boy Ghost in My House

I am 12 years old. I strongly believe there is a presence of a young boy around 6 to 8 in my house. Now, most people reading this might think it’s a 12 year old kid who’s just messing around, but this is NOT a joke at all. This is a true, real life story.

I strongly believe there is a presence of a young boy from the age of 6 to 8 in my house. I have seen spirits since I was younger around the age of 2 years. I have seen him walking through my room, kitchen and my parents room. I often deal with my TV turning itself off,my computer turning off,my lights going out often and I see shadows every where. Also I feel like I’m being watched from every part of my room and I hear him moving around all the time. He has defiantly touched me before. He has touched my arm and I actually …

Coincidence or Paranormal Activity?

I am a firm believer in the after life and the paranormal and I believe that everyone has the ability to connect to the after life, it all depends on if they choose to do so or not. I have never been superstitious of any sort until I encountered a few parafamilia myself. It started when I moved half way around the country, to a small town with my parents. I was seven years of age.

My parents bought a big house, but it was rather old (not sure how old) although it had been renovated with extra walls put in. The new section however always gave me the creeps. It was a passage that contained three bedrooms and a linen closet. The first bedroom was mine, I didn’t pick up any vibes, ever. The other two on the other hand scared the hell out of me. I don’t know why, but I could never walk alone or enter the …

Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 12

Have you read the previous parts of this story? Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 1

I eventually married and had children myself and given my history I was very opened minded to the paranormal – though my then husband was a skeptic. This didn’t bother me, as I didn’t need any validation for my own experiences.

As far as my children were concerned I realized what a blank canvas they were ( as I had once been )and how open they are in their innocence to paranormal experiences – which they accept not as paranormal but as completely normal!

The first hint my son had any type of guides or spiritual friends came only days after his birth. I had had an extremely complicated delivery and had now developed a serious infection from which I was not recovering. My husband had already been given the ‘if she doesn’t improve in the next 48 hours we could loose her’ speech …
