So my story begins in the spring of 2000 I was 9 years old when it began and started me into this path of the occult and paranormal. My parent’s had just purchased their first house and for the next 7 year’s this house would be our home. Before this we had lived in a 3 bedroom apartment me my 2 brother’s my sister and my mother and father. So needless to say to finally move to a 2 story 4 bedroom house minute’s from downtown Omaha well we were excited.
At first we didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary the house itself was almost 100 year’s old so all the noises were passed off as just the house settling. Now a year or so had gone by and as you could imagine 3 growing boy’s living together we played rough and we had put some damage into the this house (which my dad was always furious about) And that’s what I think agitated the first spirit A man who had killed himself in what to later find out was mine and my younger brother’s room. I would wake up every few night’s to find our closet door open when I was sure we had closed it now what frightened me though was I always felt as though I was being watched even when my brother was sound asleep. At first I didn’t tell anybody but after a few month’s I finally confided in my sister who admitted to experiencing the same feeling. Well at that point I had hung a crucifix above the doorway coming into the room and had a rosary hanging right above the closet. And after I that I felt relatively peaceful.
A few more month’s pass and boy’s being boy’s we had my other two brother’s get into a fight where my older brother had thrown my younger brother through the drywall in the hallway outside my room, now my dad furious about this had them fix it but then modified it so we could place a fan blowing the cold air from the hall into my room during the summer. Well summer passed and when winter came I took the fan out and stored in the basement, but the following night I started waking up again in the middle of the night with a new feeling of being watched. this goes on again for another couple month’s and one night I wake up with this horrible urge to use the bathroom, so I get up and walk out my room and as I turn into the hallway I saw what appeared to be a young woman laying nude in our hallway closet, well as you can imagine being around 12-13 at the time I was about as scared as a rabbit when it spot’s a coyote I run downstairs turning on every light as I pass it and wake up my mom and try to tell her what I saw. So she walks upstairs with me and when we get their the closet was empty. She passes it off as I was dreaming so she heads downstairs, I follow her having that same feeling of being watched, needless to say I spent the night in the living room with the TV on that night.
The next night I went to back to room. About a week goes by and again wake up and I gotta use the bathroom so I quietly get up and this time I look out my door and see the hallways empty and I feel alone so I head out but when I get to the stairs I freeze she was their again looking out the window towards an old tree in our backyard I don’t remember if she looked at me or past me but she waved towards it and vanished. Again I wake up my mom (my dad works nights so he was never home when this happened) and this time she doesn’t even bother getting out of bed. So that night once again I go sleep in the living room.
The next day was Saturday I go to let our dogs out to into the backyard and my dog bear run’s straight to the tree she waved to the night before and start to try to dig under a root so me being the curious one I am goes and get’s a trowel from the garage and heads over I dig about a foot under the root and I found an old looking skeleton key buried their. The weird thing was their was nothing in the house that this key could open so I just kept it believing if I kept it safe I could figure out where it goes. (Up until a few week’s ago I still had the key) Now I understood that the woman wasn’t dangerous but I only saw her one other time I woke up normal time and roll over and that hole in my wall leading to the hallway I saw her looking in and I could’ve sworn she winked at me before I blinked and she vanished. That was the last time I saw her.
We lived in that house for another 5 year’s before moving out to the suburbs and a lot of weird stuff including some dangerous stuff had happened in that time, from items moving or my mother being pushed down the stairs. I believe that something had opened a portal in that old house that let all sort’s of paranormal entities into it. Now over the years I increased my knowledge of the occult and paranormal and a few weeks ago the journal I took notes in just vanished in the middle of the night as well as the woman’s key. I don’t know why but maybe something came through she wanted me to stop… I just don’t know.

strange as it seems, i think you’re right! hard to say what happened in that house years ago. it could have been a brothel too! great experience!!
How fascinating that you found that key! It could have been to a door that no longer is there..but how sad that it disappeared. The house grew up in still had a door that used one of those old skeleton keys, and at some point, it was really getting difficult to maneuver the key to unlock it. But I always thought it was so cool to have a door with that old fashioned lock on it.
Thanks for sharing that story…hopefully at some point, those notes and that key will turn up. I have had stuff disappear on me like that before, only to show up in an unexpected place.
Great story. I once had a deck of tarot cards vanish without a trace, after I thought I had casually left them on a small table in the basement. I looked for them a couple days later and I’ve never seen the deck again. (I was young and only living with my mom & sister.)

You said you thought maybe there was a portal in that house. That could be the case but why do you feel that there was? (jus curious). first off I wanna thank everybody for their support. then second The house itself from as much history as I could dig up had a very…colorful past, before my parent’s had bought it since it had been up on the market for a minute kids would break in and do all sort’s of stupid stuff in the basement one of these included performing seance’s. then the we found some Nazi memoriblia in the attic along with a large swastika painted on the wall in the basement. I don’t know about it being like a brothel or anything because it was really difficult to dig up any information before 1970. I dont really believe it was the same ghost that led me to the key in the first place because the feeling of peace I had after I saw her for the last time but last time I went home on leave (I’m in the military now) i found out that about a month after I left home for basic training the whole place was burnt down. The new owners have rebuilt the house but when me and my friend Eva (she is really attuned psychic) drove past it she didn’t feel an ounce of spiritual activity. so whatever was their is probably gone now and destroyed the portal to hide it’s trail. I just wish my stuff would turn up again because of the year’s of research put into finding out the truth is gone is pretty disapointing.
oh where is where can the key be?curious too here.maybe in your new home the key belonged to a room or a box something and they or whoever took the key didnt want to you find out what it went to.look around the place and see if you find something odd with a key hole and if so then well you know where the key goes then.
Strange I used to live in a funeral home but I once saw a house like this in my old town, Ohio.
As soon as I walked into the house, I felt evil just like something was way off. Something not human and had the feeling of an occult. Well I was right – there was an occult in the attic of the garage with animal bones to protect it, something in the basement that even the rest of my family agreed not to go down there, I mean don’t get me wrong it was a beautiful house but it the atmosphere was heavy.
I did the same thing when I was in a restuarant that used to be a house, I followed and found part of the underground railroad.
well like i said the house was burned to cinder’s and any trace of spiritual energy good or bad was erased with it. on a different note my journal turned up, one of the females in my company found it in their latrine under the sink, but I’ve given up on finding the key.
Kinda creepy with that Nazi stuff too being found.
i’m sorry i got confused with one part….u say up until a few weeks ago u still had the key right???? was this after u moved out of the house???because u went on to state that u lived in the house another 5yrs before u guys moved…..
i am sorry i don’t mean anything by this i jus confused….
I lived in the house for 5 year’s in total afterwards I moved to a different house newer nice neighborhood but I kept the key, IDK why it just felt right. Anyways after I enlisted I moved to NC once again kept the key with me . Anyways the key vanished from where I kept it. It did not get lost while moving because I was settled in on post for more then 2 years before it vanished.
hmmmm i see but it is creepy even after moving away it jus disappeared…did u ever do any research on the house by chance???? would nice to know ur findings if u did……i love the paranormal….nothing really scary has ever happened to me though and i live in a country with alot of folklore and weird stories from the older heads in the family and friends…… hope all is well now with u
