The Mohini (Beautiful Woman With Inverted Feet)

Posted on January 22, 2009

In a town in Uttranchal  Pradesh, India  every  night at 12:00 people used to see a beautiful woman in a white Sari (a long skirt with a short blouse inside and the blouse was covered with the leftover of the long skirt). So they used to follow her and throw stones at her and  she would move a little faster and suddenly disappear.

People wondered why she used to do this. Some boys too  had heard about this strange experience. They too decided to follow her. They waited till 12:00 and soon found her. They also started following her everyday.

One day when the boys followed her, she stopped and when she turned around, the boys saw she had inverted feet and red eyes. The boys were terrified. They tried to run but  they could not escape, she killed them. Anyone who passed that place at that particular time back then would soon be found dead. Even policemen could not survive!

One particular man found out about this and told the  people of the town that he knew why this was happening. He said that she was a lady who had been murdered by her husband for her money to buy a mansion. Her soul would not rest in peace because she did not want that mansion to exist. So the people of that town broke down that house and she did not haunt anyone from then.

ITS SO SHORT IT SOUNDS FAKE..NO OFFENCE

  2. Ann says:

I think I have to agree with ANNA, it does sound FAKE!! Mainly because it isn’t something YOU experienced. It sounds like an Urban Legend or something like that!! Sorry but if it is made up you should have made it sound a little more believeable!!

  3. Angela says:

I live in India so i know of this legend. it is absolutely true and also very scary. the full story woud take too long to say but my great-great grandmother told me that she had seen it

  4. CuteSagittarius says:

I know such things do exist & they are real.

  5. tambelina says:

How would anyone know that the kids that followed her saw her feet were inverted and that she had red eyes if she killed them? they wouldnt be alive to tell anyone that! so if no one survived how do they know?

  6. Mellisa says:

It’s really rude to point out this story is fake when actually you don’t even know it’s true or not. as the caretaker said. it might be exaggerated a bit, but every old stories such as his one most have a truth in it. especially an urban legends, there must be lots of witnesses in the past, then the stories were told from generations to generations. it’s possible a ghost who hold grudge became evil and kill alive human. remember lots of people throw her stones. that alone could make anyone mad!!

  7. colleen says:

umm…if the boys were murdered by the ghost then how do people know what happened and that she has inverted feet and red eyes?

  8. Pat says:

I think its a true story and i love it.

  12. The Caretaker says:

The author who sent this story in is sharing an old story from the area where they live. Most legends, like this one, tend to become a little exaggerated over time, but remember that there is most always a bit of truth behind these stories. What do you think the true story could have been?
